So, I was wondering if maybe I should start a Patreon. I'm currently looking for a job and it eats up a lot of my time. With a Patreon, I may be able to stop searching and focus on writing. Not only that, I may even be able to make Streak into a comic series at some point if it's successful enough. However, since I'm currently on Universal Credit (JobSeeker's Allowance), I need to make at least £333 per month from Patreon, or my allowance would go down to compensate. I also wouldn't be able to start commissioning many images/comics until I started getting more than £333 to remain in a positive income, even by a tiny bit. Today I discovered that DeviantArt had sent me a message informing me that the automated image-recognition software "DeviantArt Protect™" had found a match to the recent Steelbadger image I got from the brilliant Leo-Artis and asked me if I wanted to have it taken down. Apparently, the offending duplicate was... Leo-Artis' submission of the exact same image in their gallery. Even though they uploaded their submission before I did, being the artist of the piece. I'm even mentioned in the description, so I was naturally notified and made aware when Leo-Artis uploaded the image. I consider it fortunate that the software didn't automatically delete their submission. This really frustrated me. It seems like a no-brainer that this software designed to protect artists shouldn't be flagging the first upload of an image to "protect" the second upload by another account. Right now, I can barely go anywhere on the internet without being treated like I'm literally some freak of nature for little more than liking a bunch of films. As a DC fan, it's almost impossible to go five steps in that universe without seeing hate for the things I love, for the director who made them, for myself, and for my fellow fans. I've never harassed anyone, stalked anyone, sent death/rape threats, etc. I've never displayed any "toxic" behaviour that the average critic of these films doesn't display 24/7.
