Abzulong vitrium by Sanrou Abzulong vitrium by Sanrou

A giant Blandoptera can be found amidst the dense clouds of the Eden Valley and Abzu Belt, roaming calmly through the skies while feeding on spore-like vegetation that floats in the air currents: the Abzulong vitrium AN., the glass dragon of Abzu.

Living alone, these peaceful herbivores are known for the bright shine of it’s reflective “scales”, often used to temporarily blind predators, allowing a fast scape.

Though its size, A. vitrium it’s not the biggest thing flying on Anu. That place is reserved for a far more dangerous and terrifying king.

Gorgeous! Reminds me of some of the giant insects from Miyazaki's "Nausicaa and the Valley of the Wind". I love that you added a scaled body covering to it. Great detail-work. :)

Thank you very much! Nausicaa is a major inspiration to all my work, as is Miyazaki himself one of my favorite artists. I'm glad you like it    :)

Absolutely stunning!
The contrast between the smooth carapace covering the head and the scaly, bumpy skin adds another layer to the beauty of this magnificent creature

Thanks! I reckon that similar organisms would exist in a low gravity/dense atmosphere scenario.

thanks, my idea was them being derived from ferns on a terraformed world, in our world plants attract insects and created flowers,  here they took wind polinitation to another level
