Galapagos Hawk by SanibelRoo Galapagos Hawk by SanibelRoo
These bad boys are the kings of the Islands. Sharp talons and great eye sight - not to forget how gorgeous they are to photograph! That's my cruise ship in the background! And under the branch you can see TWO sleeping SEA LIONS!

haha - thanks! Just over two years! And it was cool - except my husband got food poisoning and was VERY sick for the first half! :( But it still was an experience to remember! Try to go sometime if you can! :D

Its great! Your ship is consideraly larger than the one i was on. You could feel EVERY wave!!! The night going from Genovesa to Fernandina was pretty tough! It was great though. Did you get to snorkel?

I was on Celebrity Cruises' "Xpedition" ship - held 93 passengers! It felt like a private yacht with some strangers! Actually it WAS a private yacht that they bought and refurbished. :D

I did not snorkel - my husband did. 2 reasons - it was still a little cold (we were there in June) and because I don't like getting sandy and sticky. Also they said there are sharks - and even though there have not been any attacks I was a little weary - we saw lots of rays too! :(

wow!!! Thanks so much!!! If you have any questions about going just ask! My husband has been twice and is like a walking tour book. How are you going? On a cruise or private boat? What month are you going? We went in June on Celebrity's Xpedition - it was so nice!! The animals are UNREAL - so close it is awesome!!! We took over 4,000 shots!!!!! :D You will have so much fun!!!

Really nice picture...It's good to shoot it at 85mm and not frighten it.

Yes, but in reality I was right under it. At the Galapagos they don't have the same sense of fear as animals do in other parts of the world. There lives are so pure and untouched that they don't know any better. Too bad more of the world isn't like this.....
