For Taksu

My late entry for my first Taksu Exhibition in KL. Was invited pretty late in the game so these were what I could drum up. Have to say the sound advice I got from my self-appointed 'Sensei' came in good stead with the outcome of the artworks. He said "You should never feel stressed over completing an art piece. You should always enjoy and do what feels natural and comes easy to you. Don't matter or fuss about the deadlines or creating something big/great. Just enjoy the moment of creating something special and what's really YOU". Well, I did just that, and I find I really do get more satisfaction and pride out of completing each of them. In fact,I would like to keep and hang them on my own walls if I could. I've always liked and enjoy sketched works. Owning them would be a plus. Because sketches are the essence and forms the foundations and ideas to all final art pieces. And with that understanding, that's what makes sketches more precious than the finished masterpiece.
Enjoy,folks!

I'm so with you on sketches. They are my favorite part of any drawing, I find I seem to have to really force myself to push past that stage. For me it's like, "but why? I've already got the idea down. All the necessary information is there! I'm ready for something else!"
Also, I loved your mentor's words of wisdom. I need to take that to heart as well.

Yea, I hear ya. I have loads of sketches that didn't went past finalization because I felt that it's already clearly complete to what I had in mind.
It can be hard to get past over-thinking what you're creating, but once you find your comfort niche, it flow very easily. I'm still exploring and finding my own footing, definitely.
All the best on your creative journey!
