I am an independent alternative or "underground" artist who has worked on the fringes of mainstream comic books for nearly 25 years, in recent years under the pen name 'Sandez Rey'. I am most well known for my CRIMSON GASH stories for Fantagraphics' 'Eros' line of 'adult' undergrounds which series totaled 16 short stories in their sex anthology books and 2 full length comics, THE CRIMSON GASH VS HITLER and THE CRIMSON GASH VS CRIME and also a graphic novel published by Carnal Comics, THE CRIMSON GASH VS SATAN. One of my adult short stories was selected by Last Gasp publishing for their book collection BEST EROTIC COMICS 2008. As a publisher (for all ages...) I am best remembered for 2 issues of a title BIG MONSTER FIGHT, 3 issues of the title MINNEAPOLIS FREE COMIC and a trade paperback collection SANDEZ REY VS REALITY. I have also worked for a variety of small press publishers, done a little commercial illustration, some animation and the odd commission. My current work is PUNK ROCK COMICS # 1 which is up on Kickstarter now seeking funding. By complete coincidence.
