Samson Donick has spent the past few years volunteering with the NYCLU, the New York branch of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). The organization dedicates itself to providing legal aid and fighting discrimination. Some of the areas the NYCLU tackles are racial justice, voting rights, due process, worker’s rights, and immigrants' rights.
Samson's grandfather Irvin Donick was a civil rights activist who dedicated his life to fighting for equality. After immigrating from Russia in search of a better life, he experienced first-hand the discrimination and racism that exists in America against people of color. He joined the NAACP and became one of their most vocal members. In honor of his memory, Samson remains actively involved with the NYCLU as a volunteer and supports their mission.
