"(...) and finding no other way they endured at last the terror of the Helcaraxë and the cruel hills of ice. Few of the deeds of the Noldor thereafter surpassed that desperate crossing in hardihood or woe. There Elenwë the wife of Turgon was lost, and many others perished also; and it was with a lessened host that Fingolfin set foot at last upon the Outer Lands."

;~; This breaks my heart sooo badd but its sooo beautiful. So im okay, I didnt need my heart anyway. If this is the price I paid for my heart im good, this is just * clutches heart* it hurts meee X'D but wow WOW this is beautiful, that landscape Oh my gosh GOALS. Its baffling me, its soo gorgeous idk how you did it! Secret magical painting skills haha. But, my heartttt look at that detail in the background of other elves that have fallen ;~; and even at the front of the line off to the right you can tell that person is needing some help to keep going, and that other person further down the line thats crouched down ;~;  I feel the need to mention the coloring on Idril's and Elenwe's clothes as well oh gosh they look so soft and velvety!! <3 Its so beautiful! <3

You're very welcome!!!!!:tighthug: Thank you for painting that scene   you did it so beautifully and I feel like I so rarely see art of the helcaraxe, or at least not as often as I would like. This is by far one of the best ones I've seen!! The emotion in it just broke my heart, and when a painting actually breaks your heart you know its dang good :XD:

Wow! I saw the detail in the corner earlier, and I didn't realize it was part of this fantastic piece. I love everything about it, including the northern lights!!

:D (Big Grin) thanks Lunnika!!! I have tried to express my feelings reading the word "Helcaraxe"... I believe that words used by Tolkien tell stories themselves... Heart

I think one of my fav is Marc Chagall. I love his fairy vision. Both dark and serene. Do you know Le Cheval Rouge? I adore this painting.

What I love about Picasso is his being a versatile and brilliant artist in many ways. Did you know that it was also a ceramist? Painter, sculptor, ceramicist, lithographer. He dedicated all his life to art. Great thing. He was also a big pacifist, and supported many activists for peace. I love this part of him. However, he wasn't my fav painter.
