On May 6, 2016 my right knee was completely replaced and there is a lot of therapy and the healing time is ONE YEAR.
I lived in a nursing home for about 2 months and took therapy there. I was not allowed to drive for about 6 to 8 weeks
You start out with a wheelchair after surgery...then switch to a walker when you can..then a cane. I am with a cane now. Rarely do I use it at home but when I go out it is always with me. My knee joint was eaten up with arthritis and that was the reason for the surgery. I had reached the point where I could at all with all the arthritis I am not yet ambulatory enough to photograph so I have not photographed a model in about a year. My studio is on the second floor of a building and it has no elevator. And it is a very looooong staircase. Stairs for me are a real agony!!!
I am told my knee replacement will last for 20 to 25 years and since I am 75 years old now I should not need another one.
My new knee is made of Titanium
