Sarcosuchus by SameerPrehistorica Sarcosuchus by SameerPrehistorica
It is one of the largest crocodile-like reptiles that ever lived. As long as a school bus and weighing upto 8 tonnes. It is an extinct genus of crocodyliform, distant relative of the crocodiles and not an ancestor of modern crocodiles.

you know what? I hope that scientists bring this creature back to life, as a miniature version small enough to fit in an aquarium tank. if they do, I'm getting one as a pet.

Sarcosuchus is an extinct genus of crocodyliform,a distant relative of Crocodiles. It is a pholidosaur.Even though when talking about giant Crocodilians, Sarcosuchus name is used. There are things like these which are confusing, anyway.

I think a 40 foot Sarcosuchus would weigh 8 tonnes rather than 6 tonnes.

Man, I want a true Crocodile attaining lengths of at least 40ft. Sarcosuchus is not a "true" Crocodile rather its a distant cousin of Crocs in an evolutionary line. However, they did just find a new croc named machimosuchus that is similar to this size and had the mass of a double-decker buss..

Look at the description, it say it was one of the largest crocodile-like reptiles that ever lived, not one of the largest crocodiles.

Only at The reptile park in Gosford, the croc, named Elvis. They had to catch him because he was attacking the fishing boats up in at a harbor in the Northern Territory, then when they took him to a crocodile farm he killed all the females so they moved him to the park.
The croc before him there was Eric, I think he was famous.
A few weeks ago a boy got killed by a 2 meter croc up there too, he ignored all the signs.

Crocs can never be pets but some people even like to have them as pets and i have read few news about what happened to those who kept them as pets.Anyway,no matter what anyone can feed a Croc,it would still want to eat the owner.Lol

If the Sarcosuchus is alone, then the background you are saying will be suitable but this is a size comparison image with human :) and the only person who uses natural background in size comparison is me.Lol

Yeah but you coudl be standing on a beach right ? With some lake or swamp in the background... in this dry envirnoment it seems somewhat out of place :)

What i meant was,the size comparison images for animals you will see from others will be having some plain background with measurements or no measurements.Probably i am the only one who use natural background for animal size comparisons. That is the way i prefer. For example,if you take a picture with a Elephant somewhere. Now that is a size comparison of the Elephant and you in some natural background. The lake image which you saw in VS images for Sarcosuchus is good.I don't want a human standing there for comparison. That is my view.

Okay, I just don't understand why you don't want to "stand" near a sacrcosuchus with lake in background. That's more of a natural background. BTW I think that your way of doing size comparisons is much cooler than that classic way of no background or just the shapes of animals.:)

Sure that is more of a natural background. How i am not suppose to know that the lake is the suitable for Crocs. It's just the human was bothering me for that background.Anyway now i changed my mind and it looks amazing. It seems like now only the Croc true size is shown properly.I can see the difference.

Thank you.The lake background indeed looks great but i don't know why i don't usually prefer water in the comparison images except if it is for some animal coming out of the water to kill a human.Lol.
