The Birthday Book - Page 29 by SalHunter The Birthday Book - Page 29 by SalHunter
(Simple Complexity) You can tell me what you think it might be ...

In 2009, I was given a little drawing book for my birthday ... it's a spiral bound sketch book with a pretty cover. Not something I would buy for myself ... but a welcome gift none the less. I decided to fill it with little sketches and drawings as a stream of consciousness.

This is page 29 ... HB, 2H and 2B pencil ... about 7 cms by 14 cms ... 8 days.

Added a new pencil to my usual ... I like it!

It almost looks like the shadow of a magnifying glass,on some stones. Altho',it would have to be a pretty powerful one. I believe I can see them on a molecular level.
Your skill and creativity are amazing.:)

Ooooo its beautiful.:heart::heart: Anything i say is going to be influenced by looking at layers of cells all day :XD: But it does have something of a neuro-anatomical look? And a bit like looking down the light scope with the eyepiece out with the dark ring... Sheesh, i need to get out more

Thank you Immy :glomp:

Having just finished a survey of brain immunohistochemistry slides, I think neural structures have become indelibly etched on my brain ... it's bound to come through in the doodling isn't it!

 i think i have brains on the brain now too... i have to actively *try* and draw things that don't like cells, when everything seems to end up looking like a cell in some way :lmao:

Its getting harder and harder to see anything else ... these things inhabit my dreams now ...

(BTW there's a great paper in Nat Neurosci Rev on the hippocampal circuits in aging and disease ...doi:10.1038/nrn3085)

Thanks muchly, that is a great paper! I have been trying to learn about hippocampal circuitry especially in relation to the spatial learning i/o recently! Its very differentto the cortical reas i was used to :D

And - :omg: i wake up sometimes and i have been dreamimng about the patterns of staining/nuclear voids in pyramidal or granule cells that i see in my tissue samples :XD: Glad its not just me ^_^

Both you and one other have suggested that it is both simple and complex ... I love the way those words make such a good oxymoron so I have used them as the title! Thank you for the inspiration! :D
