Why I left the FGO subreddit + Reddit overall

Okay, but let me tell you some things. I am deciding to write a Twitter thread and a journal apologizing for some of my past behavior on there. It was shitty. I didn't act right when it came to my LB3 rewrite/ fix it fic and have to apologize for that. I don't like how LB3 handled everything really and I feel like the characterization from the majority of the characters was the worst. At this point, I am writing something like that out of disappointment because I really like the idea of what it COULD'VE BEEN if they focused on characters who should've been more important. And today is world mental health day and I am wanting to overcome my problems related to stuff like fanfics, fan art, etc. and such that people should enjoy if it weren't for the fandom police. I did talk to @Yuagiin about a lot of things and we did need to come to an agreement on how I do believe I need to apologize for some things, but I have my own reasons to not like this Reddit. Anyway, let me get to my ranting on why I don't like the FGO subreddit overall.

-How the people on there assume you are automatically male and women can't been into fandom spaces (this is 90% of the fandom side of Reddit TBH or it's a small minority and people are loud about it).

-The whole "chocolate waifu" thing for dark skinned girls. I had no reason it was so racist until recently. *vomits*

-How the fandom handles the Caenis/Caeneus situation (I consider him a trans man considering how his myth is about him being r*ped as a woman by Poseidon and became a man out of spite; Reddit on the other hand calls him a "cute tomboy waifu" because he has a female body.)

-How the Reddit treats male characters overall (or a loud minority) because how dare someone like a male servant/master/whatever?!

-A lot of them want every female character in their sex slave harem, even if they're underage or married.

-The cringey memes. A lot of them.

-The Genshin hate. I get not liking Genshin, but people who like both FGO and Genshin exist.

-People on the subreddit hate characters like Kadoc, Castor, and Lanling Wang yet praise Koyanskaya for waifu reasons despite the fact that she is 10x worse than all three of them combined. Hell, any female character who does worse things whether I like them or not gets praised more than any male character who does one "evil" thing.

-The fact that there are some servants who don't get event bonuses and such but are on event bonus CE's. What's the problem with that? I asked the "general ask" thread if I could use those servants in the events and got stabbed to death with downvotes. A ton of them.

-I accidentally posted one question there twice and the second copy of the question was stabbed with downvotes. They didn't care it was an accident, they just thought it was cringe inducing.

-The fact that many people defended LB3 when it came out because "Chinese philosophy, UWU" and didn't care about people hating it.

-Speaking of China, a decent portion of Chinese servants were censored in their homeland and people decided that it would be better if every Chinese servant on every server had the "Winnie the Pooh" meme on their artwork. This is extremely disrespectful because Yu's artist "TOI8" and Lanling's artist "HOU" are extremely talented artists in my opinion. And only the former has had the character censored in China. She was renamed "Chu Ying" and given more modest clothing. Hell, I could say that about all the other Chinese servants I like and their artists (Yan's artist, Yang's artist, etc.) and how disrespectful it is to make those memes on them.

-To add more salt to the wound, people still call QSH "ruler229" even though that was never funny and he is now called "first emperor of China" in CN server with no censored artwork. They also call Wu Zetian "assassin170" even though she has a new name and her outfits were made more modest.

-How many people hate female characters for having a husband and not loving the male protagonist? A decent portion actually. A lot of people burned Bryn and Yu for having husbands and/or went to Reddit to rant about how their waifus don't love them.

-All the hate for Lanling and Yu because of how "annoying" they both are. This isn't just something on Reddit though. Both of them got hated on a few Tumblr posts, Yu got hated on YouTube, Lanling also got hate on YouTube, and he especially got hate on MAL for not being Yu or another cute anime waifu by some Fate fanboys.

-The fact that ever since I left there, someone has been stalking me on Discord to impersonate me and send me hate mail. They first called me to send me suicide threats and how it should be sent to live television because they were tired of my "woke BS" and wanted them and their bigoted friends to win in the end. The second time, they went to call me a gr**mer and a r*pist and used a bunch of homophobic, racist, antisemetic, ableist, and transphobic language. The third time, they bribed me with money and a safe place away from my Dad if I could take a 1 week hiatus away from social media. The fourth time, they decided to call me a bitch and threatened to make my face viral for not doing as I said with the previous message. And this is all for fanfic reasons. This is all because I have LGBT characters in my fanfics as well as r*pe (not in a good way either) and the such. If things get serious, I am gonna have to make a Twitter thread and show it to my parents in hopes that something can be done about it with the police. Fortunately, I have blocked all their accounts. The problem is that they always tend to come back to do the same thing over again.

So if possible, please don't go on Reddit. Especially the FGO subreddit. It's terrible. You are better off finding other websites.

At this point, I would rather post my fanfics and webcomic for Another Lostbelt 3 once I am motivated to do write and draw them. I am also wanting to stream more often but I need to get my VTuber avatar put together first and set up YouTube and/or Twitch to do so. If I can, I will see if I can post my fanfic on AO3 and DA as well as other places. I will try and act more mature on there and be more honest with why I added certain things without saying "I want this to be canon, blah blah blah" and other things. I will try taking more honest criticism and not play the victim unless it's whenever someone sends me death threats.

(This is very late, I only saw this post today) I get all your frustrations. I believe most of the playerbase, or at least the vocal and juvenile ones, are people that know nothing about Fate, don't bother reading, and for them FGO is just a game they play 2 minutes everyday, along with 15 other gachas.

I had unpleasant incidents on Reddit too (one of my first drawings was deleted because they thought it was official art...) I do not hate them, I post my art there because it gets the best traction out of all websites, but it is what it is. Not all players are as invested in this franchise as I am #11 Free Icon: Usagi Tsukino (Sailor Moon) 50x50
