First drawing of 2015 and it's actually something that isn't FMA-related

(Don't worry, though, there will be plenty of Fullmetal Alchemist FanArt in the future~!

). So, first drawing of the New Year is Ouran Host Club artwork! And not only that, but it's something that I can knock of my extremely overdue To-Do list. ^^ I really really REALLY want to stay true to my schedule for what I plan to do this year, and not make this one of those plans/resolutions where it only lasts a few months.

So, this was a request (from years ago...

Like all of the requests are |D) for

, and she wanted a picture of her Ouran OC, Mimi, with Hikaru Hitachiin putting together a puzzle after hosting hours. I need more practice with the Ouran art style... but, hey, I'd say that THIS one looks better than my last attempt at Ouran FanArt xD

I'll be honest, the puzzle was actually rather fun to make, though it was tedious taking it apart so that each picture was on the individual pieces that are now played about on the table xD

Anyway.... hope you enjoy~!

And, me too! Ouran was the first FUNimation dubbed anime I ever saw, but, and I agree, it's always nice to see some fanart of it (because there's rarely any).

I'm not sure what number it was for FUNimation series I saw, but it was my third FUNimation favourite, though.

I liked Yu Yu Hakusho first, then Fullmetal Alchemist, and then, years later, February 2014, Ouran!

I'm trying to make sure I remember the month, cuz I'm not sure what day I saw it for the first time.

I feel like it was around February 8th or something like that, but I certainly don't regret FINALLY watching it! I heard of it from an old friend when I was 15 or 16 but for some reason, I just completely denied watching it. That was crazy, but I'm glad I waited in a way, because now I can appreciate and love the series without feeling any negativity towards it if that was what I was going to do back then. I love drawing fan art of the series and crossovers with it now, definitely.

I still need to continue reading the manga though, cuz I read random and important parts of it last year (Middle-end and ending chapters) and then started chapter 1-6 since I was planning to read it in order, and I still haven't continued chapter 6. *Facepalm* Lol

Oh, yeah! I remember you mentioning that you got into Ouran series back in February xD (Fullmetal Alchemist was the 2nd FUNimation series that I got into). Contrary to FMA, though.... Ouran rarely has any FanART, which is kinda sad because, to me, it feels like it's just as good. Sure, the genres are completely different and FMA has been around for over a decade and is super popular. But... I guess it just comes with the individual person and their preference ^^ It always makes me happy when I see Ouran FanArt though. It keeps things fresh ^^

Awesome, it was the second series from FUNimation for both of us then. xD Oh I know right? I see FMA Alllll the time it seems. xD I still like FMA too, but I don't seem to pay as much attention as I do with Ouran. I totally agree~ ^^ They did such a great job with the anime, I can rewatch ANY episodes in it and laugh or cry and enjoy it all the same.

Yep yep, I think so as well. ^^ And it also lets us know we're not the only fans out there! xD For awhile, I kinda felt like I was the only one besides my best friend, but I got some of my friends to watch it and they all said they enjoyed it too.

Funny how you moved from FMA to Ouran, while I was the opposite, I moved from Ouran to FMA (and I'm still in that fandom xD, but, from time to time I'll wander back over to Ouran and relieve the memories I had in that fandom ^^ ). But, yeah, FMA is a pretty popular anime, and it definitely has that ability to have us crying from feels in one episode and then crying of laughter in the next one ^^

That's so true xD Funny! But yeah, I think all three anime series of FUNimation's are actually known for comedy AND dramatic events. They have all honestly made me laugh and cry all the same. Not to mention that I loved the music from all three series as well. :3 My current interests are Ouran, Sonic and Harry Potter. I've loved Harry Potter the longest of all three. I think I was a fan of that since I was in maybe 4th or 5th grade. Wow! o.o That's kind of shocking, actually. I think I was reading the 4th book around that time. And I remember the first movie used to scare me at the end with Quirrell, I would cover my eyes at that particular scene. xD I also remember that I used to make Harry Potter and FMA crossovers as well.

*Still needs to see ALL of Brotherhood. I am so lazy with watching/reading things at times*

Well, it depends... what do you mean by "reference"? Because if you're going to trace over the work or the characters... then, I'm sorry, but I'll have to say "No". Because that would be the equivalent of art theft -____- However, if you take the idea (like two characters putting together a puzzle), and draw a completely different version of it (poses and position of everything as well as their faces), then I would be more lenient on letting you use the idea of it.

Once you've seen the twins a lot..... you start to figure out which one is which~! (I can usually tell by the bang parting, but... sometimes I still end up mixing them up |D). But, yeah, figuring it out before you read the description, you're definitely a boss~!

Oh gosh.... now you're making me wonder when the last time I did a puzzle was |D It feels like forever ago too.... But, I digress

Even with the bangs I mess up on who's who X) I had to figre them out by voice...but when they do the "Which one is Hikaru" game, I'm like..."F*ck me." 'cos then you can't tell anymore X3

lolz We may never really know, Kura-chan...we may never know...and I realize the last time I drew for OHSHC was my OC Riku...and the time before that was Hunny...did I post that picture of Hunny? ............................................no, no I didn't...I feel bad now, but I've long since lost that first Ouran pic I ever drew...I think I'll a draw a few of 'em, just 'cos I've been so obsessed with FMA and DGM...maybe get some more One Piece stuff too...and start on Fairy Tail while I'm at it...

With the English voice actors, it's easy to tell the difference (Todd=Hikaru, Greg=Kaoru). Of course... when they're speaking together, you can't tell xD I can imagine it would be harder in the Japanese version, because the voice of Hikaru in the show was the voice of Kaoru in the drama CDs (from my understanding when I looked into it). But, I agree! There's just something about those twins that make me feel warm and fuzzy inside~

I know how you feel xD When I first came to DeviantART, I was in the Ouran fandom, but then I moved on to FMA and.... well, after 4 years, I'm still drawing that stuff xD It's good to have a plan when it comes to drawing though~ I remember I had to set up one for myself (which I explain further in my New Year's journal), so, it's easy to stay on track when you tell yourself: "Okay, I'm gonna get (this) done (this day) and then do (this) on (this day)."

Actually, I had little difficulties when I watched the series subbed...actually I found Tamaki's voice funny-sounding 'cos I was so used to hearing Vic's voice at the time XD
