I rarely use DA for social media these days! I've moved on to Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. However, nothing beats DA for being a solid portfolio for my work and a way to catalogue my progress throughout the years. It's amazing to see how far I've come.
2018 was a rough year financially. It's been nearly 8 months of non-stop disasters and crisis, including but not limited to:
+three FUBAR: dishwasher, stove/oven, fence
+three floods (all from different causes)
+two infestations (wasps and black mold)
When I list it like that it's doesn't sound too terrible, but really, it's been one problem after another. If I hadn't worked at cons, this would have been an unpayable amount of work. The three floods also devastated my workshop, each within a few months of each other. So my poor workspace has been decimated over and over again, and hopefully this will be the end of it, and I can FINALLY start to work on things again. (I have a brand new airbrush and a vacuum chamber I haven't even touched since March
The good: I debuted a whole slew of new props, accessories, jewelry, and art at conventions this year! (un)fortunately I sold out of almost everything, and due to the floods, it's taking me time to restock. I'm applying to a ton of conventions this year, in hopes of adding at least one new artist alley to my usual roster. This of course means I need a good portfolio, and DA has the best streamlined mix of old and current work to showcase my art. So expect a few flurries of posts as I try to update my portfolio for the upcoming convention season~
My Storenvy and Etsy are still both open (links in bio!), though the latter has a limited selection due to Etsy's fees. Within the next few months I hope to have a full convention roster ready to prepare for and new listings with my original works. I'm excited to put this year behind me, and rework my new designs into even better ones!
Thanks for everyone who has ever supported me. It's been 8 years of this, and I couldn't have done it without every single random person who has ever complimented me, bought my art, or encouraged me. <3
