I fixed the link. SailorX.com is not down though. At least not for me, though it did appear that way for a moment, which was weird.
As for the security certificate... I really don't want to spend that extra money. I might just have to move away from making this website myself (with all the administrative baggage) and turning it into a hosted website elsewhere, where they take care of these things... ^^
... I've rewritten this reply a couple of times now. Apparently I'm torn.
I think I would like to reduce the websites (EMCCV and SailorX) to a simple download page. I'll create downloadable documents for the documentation that I have currently written up as pages on the EMCCV website.
What I really need is a reliable way of hosting the files and offering them for download. Downloads from my host were buggy. Google Drive doesn't seem to work for everyone either. I think some get lost there, which means Github is no option either, since I thought Google Drive was fairly simple, but not so for people who are not all that familiar with the web. So I'd really like to go back to offering them a simple download button on a simple page.
Do you have a lot of experience with this stuff? Have you tried "large" file downloads from your site/host?
I do have parked domains available, if you want! <3
I guess the real question is "how big is 'large'?" Because while I've never hosted downloadable video files or the like, I've definitely had large image files, archives, that sort of thing.
If there's anything you want/don't want, let me know! I'm obviously a huge fan and supporter :)
An error occurred during a connection to www.emccv.com. PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR
The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Firefox detected a potential security threat and did not continue to www.sailorx.com. If you visit this site, attackers could try to steal information like your passwords, emails, or credit card details.
What can you do about it?
The issue is most likely with the website, and there is nothing you can do to resolve it. You can notify the website’s administrator about the problem.
A quick research on those error messages suggests that it has something to do with Firefox. Are you using Firefox? They are suggesting that you "Try to make new profile via `aboutrofiles` and set it to default. If its working, export your bookmarks from the old profile and import them to the new profile."
I don't think I can do anything to prevent those messages. -.-
