EMCCV Prototype AFHP Preview: MORE FUN! by SailorXv3 EMCCV Prototype AFHP Preview: MORE FUN! by SailorXv3
Just can't help but share. ^^

Please notice the multiple irises combined to create the effect of coloured rings in the eyes. :D
Please also notice each aspect having its own colour picker!

The toolbar is new. For now there will just be one tool (I think) in the prototype, which is the colour link. When activated, it links all aspects with the same colour. If you change the colour of any aspect, all aspects with the same colour will also get the new colour. This is to save you from having to recolour multiple aspects all the time.

Prototype coming to patrons within a few days! :excited:

.:Bullet:. Patreon Please consider supporting the project by becoming a patron: www.patreon.com/EMCCV
YOU'LL GET to see WIPS (Works in Progress), high resolution previews, your feedback/vote counts extra and you get a free sketch and/or commission, depending on the support package chosen! (Even smaller packages get these after x months.) All proceeds go towards artwork for the EMCCV!

"When activated, it links all aspects with the same colour. If you change the colour of any aspect, all aspects with the same colour will also get the new colour."

Oh, now that's interesting.

I would have assumed it would work like in Xv2, "pick which things to make the same color", but with the omnibutton toggling the ability to recolor all selected items, instead of de/selecting all possible recolorables.

But if I'm understanding right (which I might not be, because HELLO 2016 I AM UP LATE), this would be instead "toggle the ability to recolor everything that happens to be the same color as whatever I'm recoloring." Which seems kinda complicated (again, assuming I'm reading correctly). I suppose if I wanted to change the colors of several items that were already the same color it could be helpful, but what if they're different colors?

Dang, those irises. BEHOLD THE SPIFFINESS GROWS. The purple one looks like it has a dark ring and a lighter center, are all of them like that?

Yes, you're right on both accounts.

The color link works exactly like you described (great description!!). If you want to recolour multiple items that currently have different colours, then the colour link won't help you to begin with. But with the colour picker you can also pick colours from the model! So you could first make your active aspect the same colour as the other aspect, thereby "picking it up into the colour group" and after that it's included.

In addition, the colour picker will display a palette of colours you are currently using elsewhere, so even if you colour them separately, you don't have to "find" the colour again and again. You can just pick it. :boogie:

And yes, these irises all have a darker outline and some texture. Which is why you get a thicker darker outline when you combine multiple sizes! I'll be adding other styles for the irises, too. :Evil Anticipation

"with the colour picker you can also pick colours from the model"

Cool! Does that work as a straight pick (i.e. the color of the pixel under the cursor), or does it pick the base color of the item being clicked? Like if I had a green skirt and color-picked in the shadow, would it give me green or dark green?

(please excuse my habit of wanting to know every detail way too often)

"the colour picker will display a palette of colours you are currently using elsewhere"

AWESOMEEEEEEEE. I was going to ask if there was something like that but blah 2 AM. Envisioning typing in lots of hex codes and I was like "...nah, that can't be right, that would be too much work."

"I'll be adding other styles for the irises, too."

This is going to be the most detailed portrait maker in the history of, like, EVER. And I thought Crysa's CAC was complicated. XD

No trouble at all!! :D :happybounce:

You would get the dark green so it's a straight pick. The base colour will be listed in the palette of currently used colours. ;)

HAHA!! I just hope it won't be "complicated". It is definitely aimed at the more advanced user simply because you have a text based menu instead of pretty thumbnails, but SailorX users are used to that. ^^
But once the EMCCV is launched work will of course always continue to improve and expand it and thumbnails will definitely be on the to do list. :eager:
