BAI HADOSON

                    A cute series about little living space-robots who protect their galaxy from evil and crime, Bomberman!  I grew up playing a few of the games as a little girl with family, so it's present in my childhood memories.  I don't usually keep up with the series, though I enjoy returning to a game every now and then for nostalgic fun and memories.

                    While my computer wasn't working, I found myself picking up Bomberman Tournament and going through it.  I've owned that game for, oh, say, 13 years?  I could never beat it as a kid and never made it very far in the game at all.  I started to go through it again in the last several years, but just never continued.  Here after all this time of having it, I finally returned to it by starting it over from the beginning again, and finished the whole thing in about two days, haha.  It got me into a little phase, thus I drew this.  I kinda found it amusing how this game had a bit of a Pokemon thing going on where you could challenge battles with these critters with special abilities called Karabons.   It seems so blatantly based on Pokemon.  I wanted to draw Bomberman with the Karabon Pommy because of that game, 'cause it was cute, but this drawing came about instead.  Pommy almost reminds me of something out of Kirby, kind of.  Instead for the drawing, you get Cheerful White and his rival/friend, Cool Black!  Apparently they've been called those names in one of the newer games.  They're probably my favorite duo, aside from White with Pommy, of course.

                    It's a shame Hudson Soft closed down.  I heard something about it shutting down a few years back and didn't know if it was true.  I thought maybe the games were going to die out with the company.  But from what I read, I guess the series is owned by Konami now?  I read that Hudson was a branch-off from Konami; that would make sense.  I just found this stuff out today, on top of learning that they apparently released a new game called Super Bomberman R.  DUDE.  It's different from the stuff Hudson Soft did (overall it's still mostly the same), but it looks interesting!  The characters seem to have a bit more personality now, and they all have fully voiced dialogue?  Whaaa?  It's cool to at least see that they're keeping the series going.  Still could never forget that silly Japanese "BY HUDSON" slogan, though. xD
