Description

It's that time again!  It's about 4 (a little less than now) hours from midnight, so it's time to get this up.  This year went by SO.  FAST.  I thought New Year's was just last year!  Oh, wait.... :XD:  Jokes aside, every year seems like it goes by quickly anymore, but this one especially went REALLY fast.  Doesn't even seem right that 2019 is almost here.  I just got comfortable with signing "2018" on my artwork. :noes:  Then when 2019 passes, it's going to feel SO not right having to get used to "2020".... 🙃  I feel like we're hopping into a Sci-Fi story.

The year itself wasn't bad.  It had it's stressful times for me, but God has remained faithful.  He is so good.  Some breakthroughs and good things have happened, as well!

Art-wise, it wasn't bad at all either!  I didn't draw quite as much as I wanted to, but hey, I made up for that trying to keep up with the Inktober challenge, and actually succeeded for once. :XD:  I was hoping to get some more art pieces done before the end of the year, but oh well.  The most significant thing about my art this year is that I worked on putting a LOT more environmental backgrounds into my art, moreso than ever, probably.  I think that's my biggest accomplishment by far this year, which is what I was hoping and aiming for.  I put a lot more effort and time into the art I did, and toward the end, I started picking up on some fun little coloring techniques that helped me to try making my art more lively, yet soothing.  I feel like this year, I was able to do a LOT more artwork that really touched the heart with the meanings behind them, had more expression, emotion, and a sense of peacefulness, and I really thank the Lord God for that, for letting His gentleness begin flowing into my art.  I learned some interesting things about the impact of art this year as part of the Kingdom.  Fanart or original: it can all be used to His glory.  I really hope people's hearts were touched and received that peacefulness that I was hoping to accomplish, and I hope to continue doing so.  I sincerely hope the feel God's Love the moment they set their eyes on my art.  I didn't think I would be at first since I didn't really think I had much improvement on my art, but really look back on it now, I can see I made a lot more accomplishments than I realized.  Even if I did want to do more, I am now nonetheless happy and grateful with this year's progress.

January - Part of the Earth You Tread
I can tell I was pumped for this year.  Although I believe I started this at the very end of December of 2017, it was a nice piece to start with for 2018, and I went into the right almost right off the bat with illustrating backgrounds and making more expressive art.  Remind me how it's been almost a year since I drew this already?  Sure doesn't feel like it -- it still feels like I just worked on this.

February - ~Sparklers~
Second choice: Lunch on the roof
Same with these -- these doesn't feel that old, either. xD  I rewatched One Week Friends with my friends in February, which was really fun.  And it sparked some nice fanart for it, both of which I put a lot of work into and still really like.

March - ~Bills~
This was definitely one of my biggest and most favorite projects of the year.  It took a lot of effort, but I accomplished it!  I still enjoy looking back on it for a laugh. :XD:  I feel like all the panels, scenery, poses, and expressions in relation to the dialogue were a big accomplishment for me!

April - The Wandering Rose

May - Wacky Robots Go "BOOM" in Space
Ironically, I my pick for May last year was Bomberman art as well. :XD:  MY PERIODS OF BOMBERMAN PHASES LINED UP BOTH YEARS.

June - Serenade of Clouds and Rain ~Turmeric and Ginger~
Second choice (but didn't choose it because it was finished right in the transition between the last day of may and first day of June): Classic Heroes
This nice thing about this year is that I also finally finished some old art that I had been meaning to finish from previous years, including this A Little Snow Fairy Sugar fanart and another piece of fanart for it. :,D  That was also a nice accomplishment.
Sonic Mania also got to me with the return of Might and Ray and after seeing some of those Mania Adventures episodes.

July - Royal Matrimony
Second choice: Strength and Grace ~Edgar and Celes~

August - Gift: Dawn
Managed to do some nice gifts this year in this month, which I hope to do more to show my appreciation for friends. ;u;  It's also worth mentioning that THIS simple doodle of Black Bomber from Super Bomberman R was noticed by Konami after I posted it on Twitter, which I was NOT expecting at all since I didn't even mention Konami in the post or anything.  They just FOUND it on their own and went and suddenly shared it, BOTH on their US-branched account AND their UK-branched account, so it got a lot of attention!  I was so shocked, AAAAH.  It was awesome! :,D  Here is their post about it: twitter.com/KonamiUK/status/10…

September - I don't Want to Go!
Another old drawing I finally revived and finished, and one of my favorites from this year.  Around this time, I really started having fun with messing around with coloring and making things look more soothing.

October - ~Princess Serenity~
I successfully completed the entire Inktober challenge for the first time this year, whooo! :dummy: :la: :iconlawooplz:  I'm still very happy about that. :XD:   On top of that, I manage to draw a few other things along with it, which was awesome!  I don't think I had ever been so productive, at least not in many, many years when I first started drawing all the time. xD

November - Wistful
Second choice: Fun in the Fall

December - "I'm at Peace..."

I hope and pray that 2019 and the following years to come are filled with His Light, growth, improvement, peace, and joy, artistically and spiritually, to be more thankful, to be more gentle, to be more hopeful, firm in Faith.  It is my prayer not only for myself, but all of you, and everyone else.  Thank You, Lord Jesus, for the privilege to be an artist for Your Kingdom.  Reveal Yourself, Lord, Heavenly Father, Holy Spirit, in Jesus' Name.  Amen.

Happy New Year, everyone!  God bless.
