So, recently my Rashiku Ikimashou Redraw
fanart got shared by a Sailor Moon fan page on Facebook, and one of my friends shared to show me that she randomly saw my art floating around. That's pretty cool, and I love finding that people like my art enough to share it on a page. I decided to peek at the comments.
Turns out, it's being sold as a messenger bag on Amazon. I'd link it but, I would like to avoid any purchases of this item.
I did not authorize them to use my artwork.
While I realize it's fanart and I don't own the rights to Sailor Moon, neither does the bootlegger selling the bag. I'm rather disappointed that they would exploit me. It's no one's fault but my own, though. I released the image as HD as I could, and offered a download of it.
I'm tempted to put watermarks on my drawings, now.
But that really doesn't look good...
It really doesn't feel good and now I understand how other artists feel when this has happened to them in the past.
I don't think Chinese sellers are going to stop doing this any time soon, though.
