65 Theme Challenge: Horror by SailorEnergy 65 Theme Challenge: Horror by SailorEnergy
65th theme of Theme Challenge is Horror

Please pardon Lalina AKA Gold the Deaf Mermaid for her opinion on those horror stuff since she simply doesn't get those. ^^; Imagine her facing a really scary situation where she's trapped by the fact that she couldn't hear a rattlesnake hiding in the tall grass.....Oh the horror!
Terror..Ahhh..Onion

That's something I have to deal with whenever I'm out on a geology trip involving searching for minerals in the deserts of Southwest USA with no way of calling for help should I get bitten...... and it's still amazing that after all for those years, I still haven't ran into a single rattlesnake on my own.... am I a natural snake charmer or what? :XD:

Heh, I've never been too keen on horror either. My favorite horrors are usually the ones that doesn't scare me at all and I treat it like some messed up dark fantasy stories (well, Stephen King's "Misery" is one of my faves even though I was actually scared of it, but that's becuase of the crazy lady taking the horror part instead of some supernatural beings). I also prefer the more comedic and parody-ish kinds of horror. I remember watching "Courage the Cowardy Dog" as a kid with my brother, both laughting at the comedic parts and loving the creepy parts (however, one episode with that scary human-like floating head scared me so much that my bro keeped teasing me about it for a long time).

That's interesing how people like to be scared of things that don't actually exist... Oh, on the snake part, I've always been fascinated of reptiles and wanted to have non-venomous one as a pet (I was a weird child). I remember seeing one in polish mountain and only after the trip I realized it was a venomous viper... Sweating a little... Good thing that I just let it pass the road and stayed a good distance from it...

Hmmhmm.  Comedic? Would my Energeia Vs Akosmia Halloween comics be a good example? :XD:

I have heard of "Courage the Dog" *nod*

That got me remembering something about one TV show I saw when I was in someone else's place. I think it was "Scare Tactics" or something like that where real people try to scare others by playing scary pranks on them. Most involved really dumb stuff like aliens or fictional monsters which I don't see how can people get so scared by them, but there was one prank that can happen in the real world.
There was a boy who decided to prank an elderly barber by hiding a blood packet behind his ear so he would "bleed" when barber cut his hair. When the boy starting screaming with the fake blood flowing down his ear, the elderly barber stumbled backward and then collapsed from having a heat attack. The boy panicked realizing that his prank killed him and started calling for help. The barber came back up all fine and it turned out that he fooled the boy by pretending to have a heart attack. :)  As you can see, that kind of prank could send someone to hospital....

Oh. :XD: It is a good thing that you let that viper pass by. :XD:

"Only weird people would say that anyone else is weird." :) SO you wasn't a weird child...at least in my opinion. :XD:

Kalua L finger wagging - not so fast - stop right there!

In my experience rattlesnakes tend to be "showy" besides rattling. They'll rattle but will also show themselves, kind of like a cobra only without inflating the neck hood. Even if the person can't hear they'll see them

Yep, I was told that I passed a couple of rattlesnakes but I never saw them in plain sights... So again it depends.  The younger rattlesnakes tend to be more dangerous mainly due to their inexperience.  I get teased about being a "Snake Charmer" mainly because despite all of the work I did in Arizona, New Mexico and western Texas, I still haven't had a direct encounter with a rattlesnake so far and that does not count that time where they were using a backhoe to do some mining and I was first to spot a nest of six juvenile rattlesnakes.

Why play horror games when there are plenty of pedophile rapists, trump supporters aka neo-nazis and skin cancer/premature aging outside, last one to the mass shooting is a rotten, com entree

Yep, sign language tend to exclude "unnecessary words" I know several places where rattlesnakes like to hide.

Yep, those are good examples.  Skin cancer does concern me because I have to work outside. Wearing long-sleeves shirts and a good all-weather hat helps.

Thanks and nice to hear from you again even I had been so busy lately...

Texas has a event where they put a whole horde of defanged rattle snakes in a pit and bring kids in to stomp on them, they also skin them in front of the kids and hand out the skins, etc.

Well mainly you only need to worry about protecting your face and neck, the sun is good for you it turns out (unless you're very pale, it's only bad for you if you're getting sunburned, if you're not getting sunburned then that means you're getting vitamin D)

Good one

that's why I do not like the fictional horror, I already have enough with the real horror, the horror of every day. as if there was not enough fear of being run over, robbed, murdered, etc. etc. etc.

Life as a whole is genuinely a horror movie, just without the hokey tropes (e.g. running from a masked maniac through the woods to cheesy music, jumpscares, chainsaws, etc.), you're not allowed to be smart or female otherwise you become the victim of sexual abuse either from jealousy or lust, that's just the very most tip of the ice berg...

Even optimism isn't enough, remember less than .01% of people die painlessly, the other 99.99% are murdered by someone, usually a doctor or someone with a gun or by a bad driver

Even as far back as the roman era people were executed, murdered or tortured to death, or killed by animals, disease, etc., back  then people were dying by diseases with no cure, now people are dying by doctors, oh the irony
