Hey all, some may have noticed the lack of updates on Centre-01, or the shots of some recent model work in Maya.  GZDoom has been making me pretty unhappy for a while now because of it's rendering limitations and as a result I ran off to Maya and Unity.  As a result I finally figured out texturing and some basic animation in Maya!  You have no idea how happy I am about that; I was stuck forever on those.  I've also been getting progressively better with my mesh creation; the updates to my door model attest to that.  And finally I put in a few hours and got PBR figured out so I'm basically at the point of leaving GZDoom behind.

But there's one thing left undone with GZDoom, and that's Zeta-Windows.  What is Zeta-Windows?  Z-Windows, as I like to call it, is a generic GUI API for (G)ZDoom, that mimics the appearance and functionality of an actual operating system, like Microsoft Windows.  I've based my design around the X Window System, which is what makes the API generic; the API doesn't dictate what the GUI is supposed to visually look like but instead dictates how the functionality is built.  Most of the visual features you get in a real operating system are in Z-Windows.  The whole thing is mouse-driven, so there are different button types, you can move and resize windows, and more!  Different font sizes, colors, and multiple fonts are supported too.  There are more features, about half of which still need implemented.  Check it out at the link below and I'll post a couple screenshots!…
