Rising Fury Ch. 11
"Do you like what you see?" Satanga asked her visitors, two Human men who were dressed in black as though they were stiffs from a funeral home. "Satanga has taken a poor people by their straps, and brought them to prominence once again. The will of the Jakaki people will forever be known by all, as will their mighty resolve... Peace shall reign triumphant across this world under Satanga."
"I found this on one of them..." A small Izrok dwarf woman in black with a long pointed black cap told Satanga while holding a small derringer in her hand.
"Hah!" Cackled Satanga. "It takes more than a pea shooter to protect yourselves against a ferocious Jak."
What appeared at first to be nothing short of a hostage situation actually was a meeting between emperor Satanga of the giants, and two representatives of the Human imperial government. The two men came to the young emperor to try to talk the warlord into settling for a peaceful coexistence on the terms of the Human government, and not on her o

Sky followed the trail west toward Shizhiq, the home of his ancestors' greatest enemy, and the land of many friends who no longer judged him. Night had had come and was nearly to an end, the young boy was tired and weary, but kept moving intently toward the large mountains that were coming into view high above the forests. The pitch black sky was beginning to lighten blue, and while the half-moon and stars were still highly visible, the birds were already waking the woods with their sweet calls. And looking up at the moon and stars brought a disturbing memory of the afterworld to Sky— remembering seeing his grandmother, Ingrahara, in the dark afterworld and slaving over rocks and quarries, hoping to reach a star to salvation. Frequently, he found himself gazing up at the moon thinking about the ones in his life that he cared about, he especially wondered if his dad made it to the afterlife okay.
Sky personally blamed himself for his father's untimely death. He felt like a coward

Riding away from Jakaarad and in a hurry to make his safe exit out of the giant's den, Sky took the horse as far as he could before he knew it had to be fed and give water. Galloping away on an empty stomach, Sky too was ready to get off and happened to come upon a small wooden cottage home deep within the dark forest that sprawled so far and wide beyond Jakaarad like a protective fortress shielding the Jakaki people from foreigners with its hills and chasms.  The cottage was humble-looking, and there was not even a door, just an open entrance that welcomed visitors.
The sun was starting to set and the darkness was soon to envelope the landscape. Sky knew that the forest through which he traveled— Forest of the Behemoths— was known for its killer fauna at night and he was in no position to have to fend for himself. Normally an eerie little cottage that lied in the middle of a dark and treacherous forest would unsettle Sky who remembered reading many fantasy stories as

Unbeknownst to Sky, an eager Satanga stood proudly in the tower above her throne room at a large open window, and in the darkness, she watched her young nephew gallop off and away with her scope. A gift given to Satanga when she was younger, it was a monocular made of brass that was once used by a Human scout. Satanga befriended the Human, then killed him and devoured him entirely for her first kill. It was a fact she was greatly proud of. To her it was a symbol of her rising power, and she grinned and laughed watching the only threat to her rule run off with his proverbial tail between his legs.
"Ride away, foolish boy... Satanga will see you again someday." She mocked him.
Satanga now pocketed the monocular in her fur coat and turned around. Behind her, the rest of the tower lay in her view, lit up by gas lanterns hanging on the walls and by chain from the high cupola. The tower chamber was huge, and it's where Satanga held her rituals, her music she played from an organ she had take

Running quickly and away from Jakaarad, Sky hoped to get away from not only the clutches of Satanga and her soldiers, but to also find a way out of Jakarin altogether. So to speed up his exit from the giant's den, Sky went against his own principals and upon leaving the village, mounted on horseback and took off. He did not want to steal the horse, but it was his best chance of escape from what he perceived to actually be hell in its own twisted reality. Several Itgan soldiers in their fur uniforms of green chased after him as he took off on a black horse, but even for as fast as the Itgan were on foot, they were no match for Sky, who was a masterful equestrian.
In Sky's mind, he could still hear his evil aunt's taunts and cackling, her words predicting that he will return to her.
Sky rode the horse down a trail leading out of the village, many commoners stopped to watch the young boy, a dashing young figure on the horse, gallantly pursue freedom away from the soldiers. He himsel

Unable to resist the towering and hulking guards who were dragging him by his feet, against his will into an unknown and dark corner of a dungeon below the Jakaarad seat of government. Exhausted after having vomited and falling ill from eating the meat of a Human, Sky was eventually brought to a small holding cell comprised of strong brick walls and little to no light coming from a barred window that was well out of reach even for eight foot tall Sky. The cell doors, made of heavy iron, were unlocked and opened by one of the guards before Sky was tossed into it like dead weight. Immediately the cell doors were slammed close and locked by the guards who didn't say anything before walking away abruptly.
Sky thought for sure he was going to be let go judging by Satanga's words, but apparently she had plans for him.
The boy pushed up from the floor and got on his feet. He brushed off his coat, sleeves, and leggings, relieving them of tiny bits of straw and the dirt that had soiled the ston

Satanga had been seated at a long and heavy black marble table, a large Jakaki woman wearing browned leather hide over a fur coat and with mud-covered leather boots pushed her stone chair back for her to take the seat at the head of the table. When Satanga was comfortably seated, the same woman pushed back a chair at the corner beside the emperor just for Sky, who now diligently and respectfully took the seat. As Satanga watched her nephew sit down, the woman who, by now, was obviously a servant to the leader, removed Satanga's black mantle from her backside and disappeared into a different chamber with it.
Sky had not been intimidated by the young emperor, but she found something grotesque and unsettling about her blue eyes that looked like they were children of a glowing moon. She was a very dark figure in appearance, and her long white spiky hair held back by a band of horns was reminiscent of old Jakaki war dress from an era since passed.
"Tell me, boy. What was the Light Kingdom l

The pirates from the Dame D'elegance that were captured by Satanga and her soldiers off the coast of Jakarin were brought to shore and paraded through the streets of villages like war prizes. Satanga, who over the previous five years had become a very powerful and influential figure in the Jakaki tribe, made it a point to personally capture foreigners whether they were in Jakaki territory or not, and make use of them hastily. Of course, the hundreds and thousands of Jakaki people that would look lowly upon any foreigner brought into their territory would always have choice words for the "animals". Most would just glare at the people being marched through their regions, some would attack them, and some would also look on them with hunger in their eyes.
Usually Satanga would have the foreigners take a long march on a route directly out of their way to their destination, just so that the many Jakaki people could proudly see them as inferior captives bound to be slaves, and maybe one day b

"I will bet you......... Six silver shillings for a twelve!"
"I accept, mate!"
Two gruff men, members of a pirate gang that operated off of the Jakaki and Shiqaw eastern coasts, placed their bets to a game. Under a dim set of candle lights below the deck of Dame D'elegance, pirates who feared nothing, and gambled with everything watched two members play a game with dice, roll two, guess the number, and win the bet. It was simple, but it was the most civilized way to conduct transactions among the crew of cutthroats and misfits. Upon a small wooden crate laden with rot and salt from the ocean, the two dice that were cast rolled a seven.
"Hah! You owe me six silver, mate! Another go, this time for the woman!" The winner boasted. "How 'bout it??"
"Fine!" Said the loser. "Twelve, and this time, for seven!"
"You're on!"
Such an innocent gambling game, even among thieves and the wretched. Twelve other men watched the bet be placed, the dice cast, and another loss.
"Nine!" Announced the winne

A little more than five years came to pass after the raid on Kakli's wheat field. In those short few years, Sky had matured into a young adult giant, reaching eight feet tall and building a very good reputation as an honest, hard-working, and friendly boy with the local Shiqaw population. Many who knew Sky Itgan would say that his cool demeanor would douse the flames of any fury, his calm approach to the little things blended harmoniously with his patience, and with his decent character. He was the antithesis to the Itgan that many knew, showing no signs that he was like anyone in his race.
And now, happily, Sky was ready to move on and leave Kakli and Nona— both of whom have taken a strong liking to the boy. At just seventeen years young, Sky was ready to return home to his kind, but not after final farewells, and unknown to him, a whole town of people wishing him well on his journey back to the giant's den.
"You are always welcome to visit us anytime, son." Kakli told Sky, look

"Yeah, I think this year will bring a good one. Maybe even forty bushels an acre this time." Sky listened to his boss tell him. "Last year was not so yielding and no to good to this region, boy."
"How many pounds in a bushel, Kakli?" Asked Sky.
"You'll see when we irrigate and harvest the wheat, boy. Just stay busy." Said Kakli.
Sky was almost thirteen years young and he was now a farm hand, laboring from sunrise to sundown— and sometimes through dark. Most boys his age were just starting to find their usefulness in the middle of Shizhiq, the proud kingdom of the mighty Shiqaw race. Many farmed, many scouted, many studied medicine and philosophy, and few went off to be educated by their curious Human overlords. Sky's boss, Kakli, was also his host, who, only months before, had invited the young Itgan boy to stay in his home so long as he was useful on the wheat fields. Sky, being a young giant, had tremendous strength and stamina. It was said by the members of the Shiqaw tribe th

I am very curious though. We heard it from Golbi a little, now I wanna hear it from you. What are your genuine thoughts on making my characters (Human or not) as strong as they are (Some with the potential to get stronger)? Does it make sense given the context of the stories?

Dealing with the Golbster is like the dealing with a pissy-mood puppet. Goofy sounding, always sounds bitchy even when she's not bitching. She didn't really change the subject, she just wanted to get in a jab.
