Oh, my, this is a nostalgia trip. Neverending Story was my introduction. Labyrinth hit me about 11 which was the perfect age. I would say those are still the two most dear to my heart. I saw The Dark Crystal so young that it scared me more than anything, and now when I watch it I adore the Henson vision even though I find the story weak.

I was a bit too young for Willow and Legend, both of which I watched many times in my young adulthood and appreciated for what they tried to do even though they're flimsy films that often cross the line into silliness and camp. To some extent I also missed out on a few films that my parents wouldn't let me see at theaters and wouldn't buy the VHS. I didn't see Return to Oz until my teens, but I love it. I also count the Star Wars ewok movies in a category of films that I would have worn out if we had owned them - I think I saw them in grade school on "fun days". Then there's the tremendously obscure "Mio and the Land of Faraway" which I remember very fondly.

And then of course there's The Princess Bride, which exists on a dimension above all human opinion, transcending favoritism. It is one of the constants of the universe.
