Yaunthir the sea dragon

Finally, after all the WiP shots, here he is: Yaunthir.

My model of Yaunthir is based on the drawing of umunschaas which is itself based on a drawing by IVISEK . With a pedigree like that I never was going to do it justice, but I tried.  

I was invited to try and make Yaunthir in response to a request for an OC to try out some phosphorescent material on. I usually try and get as close as I can to the original design, but in this case I have made a couple of alterations. Firstly I've left all the blue detail on the original unpainted, and I've also left the wing membranes natural instead of painting them black to increase the glowing effect.

The top two photos show Yaunthir in the daylight. Bottom left was taken in low light (evening) and bottom right is a night shot. There is no internal lighting on this model. The bioluminescent effect is from the phosphorescent material.

The model was made with a 3D pen using Phosphorescent PLA. Finish is acrylic paint.
