Fateful encounter (part 12)

The following morning while they sat eating breakfast in the little tavern at the hamlet, Nathan brought up the subject of what they were going to do next.
"Have you any plans?" he asked.
"Not really," Astra replied casually, poking the plate of food that sat in front of her.
"Exactly what is this?"
"The cook called it the All Day Breakfast," replied Nathan.
"I know what he called it," snapped Astra, "But What is it?"
Nathan picked up the little card that was sitting on their table pretending to be a menu.
"It says here that it's made up of Baked beans in tomato sauce with sausages, button mushrooms, chopped pork and egg nuggets, and bacon burger"
"So what do you suppose this bit is?" asked Astra, lifting a squishy grey lump out of the beans with her fork.
"I don't know, mushroom maybe, or it could even be the burger I suppose. What kind of texture has it got?"
Astra took a tentative bite.
"Kind of chewy. Tastes mostly of tomato sauce."
"Doesn't really narrow it down much, does it," said Nathan, studying what was left on the plate to see if that offered any clues. Astra put on a brave face and began to eat her meal. All of a sudden Nathan's plate of boring old buttered toast and jam didn't seem such a bad choice after all.
After they'd finished Nathan pulled a piece of paper out of his pocket and placed it on the table between them.
"I was given this at the guard house when I collected my bounty. It's a list of open jobs, and their rewards.  If you've got nothing in mind to do, then maybe we could pick up one of these?" Astra didn't object so he turned the paper round so that she could read them easier.
"How about that one?" she suggested, pointing to the one which had caught her eye. Nathan turned the paper back towards him and looked at it.
"Sure. Why not!"
After breakfast they packed the few things they travelled with into their bags and went out to the stables to collect Nathan's horse. A quick bit of negotiation with the stable owner secured Astra a horse of her own and together they started off along the river towards their next assignment.

My OCs were created and posed on Hero Forge. I then took screenshots, deleted the backgrounds, combined the characters and printed them onto Daler Rowney 130gsm Smooth Cartridge paper. The background was drawn and coloured with Castle Arts Soft Touch pencils.
