Drakensberg

Slight departure from my normal art, this is an attempt at painting a realistic landscape. I've based it on a stock image of a place called Drakensberg, which translates as 'Mountains of Dragons', in South Africa.
I don't consider myself a landscape artist, but painting landscapes is great practice for adding backgrounds to my regular work.

Picture was painted with Daler Rowney Aquafine watercolour paints (pan type) on Daler Rowney 200gsm Fine Grain Heavyweight paper.
