Oh, when I read this PDF and tutorials of Mandelbulb3D (not precisely this one), I remember how much I would like this kind of tutorials in spanish!!

Btw, If I find time near (hundred years maybe lol) from this moment, it would be a problem if I publish this tutorial or others in spanish? It would be a good way to really understand for myself what is going on :)  Maybe I could upload to sta.sh an you link it here :)

Don't worry about your style of tutorial, it is perfectly clearly (actually I didn't see tutorials clearer than this!) but is a problem I have with tutorials in english:

Alberto, please be my guest! If you want to translate any of my tutorials, please do. And you can publish it yourself, no problem! I am only lucky that my English is ok enough to read and write, many are not so lucky. We resign ourselves to communicate on here in a foreign language, but that does not mean we all speak it (very ((well)) :}

I ran it through google translate, probably very weird spanish, but hopefully a good way for you to start when you are ready. It has a pdf and a odt. If you don't have OpenOffice let me know and I'll pack it as .doc
And since I like doing stuff like this, I can 'google pre-translate' more for you, it really is very quick and no trouble at all! Just let me know which ones you would like:)

thank you very much! I don't have time today, I have scheduled a game of tennis-squash with a friend :D  But is a good idea. Yes, is great you put in odt, I only use LibreOffice (that  is a fork of OpenOffice). I don't have Microsft Word installed as I use Ubuntu ;)

I visited the site, and downloaded the program software. I'll probably just leave it to sit around, and check it out later. :meow:
   When I have time, I will slowly experiment with it. I am more of a trial-and-error person, than a tutorial one. :shrug: (That's why it takes me three times as long to learn anything. :lol:)

I tried without tutorial, all I got was sauerkraut! Uninstalled the monster, forgot about it, came across some really cool stuff  a year later and reinstalled it. This time determined to Learn the bloody thing! Looked at a few tutorials and learned the rest by myself. Long and steep learning curve. It never occurred to me in the first half year or so to actually ASK people how they do things! WOW I could have saved myself so much frustration and hours and hours (hundreds!) of trial and error, because the fractal community is so nice and helpful! Please be smarter than I am? ;) When the time is there, always feel free to spam my inbox, you Know how I love to give advice Grin revamp

Mandelbulb3D is a fractal generating program that aims at creating 3D-fractals that are often quite realistic looking.
2D-fractal software like Jux can only create fractals that are flat, while 3D-fractals also have height/depth (and of course there are the in-betweens: some programs like UltraFractal are mainly 2D, but have (very limited) 3D-possibilities). The best comparison might be a photograph (which is always 2D) you had printed from some shells. For instance, you can see the shells but if you let your hand touch the photo, it feels like a flat surface. If 3D-photos would exist, you would be feeling the shells sticking out of the flat surface.

Most mandelbulb3D-users navigate through their fractal by using the Navigation window. You will find it on the upper left of the main window by clicking the 3D Navi-button

They are what this is called: a quick and dirty approach for those who (like me for a long long time) need a place to start and experiment from. All in here is based on what I found out myself or what I was pointed to by kind fellow DA-members. How to use them:
In the zip there are .m3l files packed.
- Extract those to the folder Lights in Mandelbulb3D-folder. If there is no Lights-folder, create it first, then extract all the m3l-files there. If there already is a Lights-folder with a slightly different name, write the name and location on your hard disc down and extract your files there.
- After that, start the program if it is not already running, and in the main window go to the Ini-tab above the render.
- Click on Initial Directories. A window will open
- The fifth row will say at the very left: M3l Light parameter
- Make sure that the text in the white field

Custom Height Maps For Mandelbulb3DMandelbulb3d has several ways to render 3d fractals.  One of them, dIFS, has the ability to make use of height maps.
This tutorial focuses on creating custom height maps.
This is not news worthy - MB3D artists have long made use of this technique.  Recently my friend Jorge - batjorge - has posted a tutorial on using dIFS with a height map - the HeightMapIFS and the amazingIFS formula.  The tutorial is meant to easily generate the classic bulb shape and it achieves this admirably. The height map in Jorge's guide is a uniform, gray image.  This results in a clean and texture-free bulb form.  But what happens if a more complex height map is used?
This tutorial will walk you through creating a quality custom height map and applying it in a MB3D dIFS render.

An amazingIFS guideA little guide on how to use amazingIFS formula on Mandelbulb 3D.
Here is a simple procedure on how to obtain these caracteristic “kleinian” shapes or however they are named with a simple heightmap. This mini tutorial can be done with any other dIFS shapes tough, like SphereIFS, etc.
I've used for this example a very simple grayscale map, filled with neutral grey (RGB 192)

Don't forget to add the map to the working folder you have for Mandelbulb 3D!
I've lowered the max. Iterations to 25 in the formula window to speed things a bit up but you can change it later if you prefer to do so.
Put in the first slot HeightMapIFS and type 199 in the nr field:

Add amazingIFS to the second slot.Just set all rotation X, Y and Z from default 5 to 0, and change Fold X, Y and Z values to 1.
