Gloomier Shores... is a short illustrated story based on Craig McCracken's television series the powerpuff girls and is written and illustrated by Kyle Brandon Downing. The story follows the girls after their early encounters with death in 1999 and 2000. They've become more aware and have closed themselves off from most of the world, save for the times where they're fighting to protect the city. They later discover a group of like-minded people who are trying to pull themselves up from the all-encompassing negativity of the world. They are opened to several unconventional means of coping, and begin to uncover the true depths of their inner strength.
