A Forest for Us
Surrounded by trees
A breeze quaint, quiet, and neat
I sit awaiting
Hushed whispers join in
Ashamed of my skeletons
Smothered in chagrin
Where are you right now?
The emptiness before me
Is bathed in silence
Their jeers and their sneers
Get me out of here!
Please come comfort me
I wait, still sitting
Dirt on my knees from falling
They hiss and scream at me
Harsh whispers sink in
Will this now just be my life?
Sitting here waiting
Surrounded by trees
The sharp howling falls silent
I see you reach out
I think 'I am saved'
I do not need to fear here
It is just a breeze
Those creatures are trees
I walk by your side
As you speak to me
You say, presently:
"This is our 'no fear' forest"
You laugh and hug me
I smile loving-
Reminding myself so clear
Of our time spent here
We are strong and brave
In our forest that have saved-
For us, all our days
