Recently, I've been experimenting with a genre of fiction known as Post-Horror. It's not considered an official style in the broader literary world, but if I had to define it, it's basically fiction that starts out heavily rooted in horror and evolves over time as the narrative progresses. We've seen examples of it in series' like Resident Evil where the characters start out as inexperienced zombie hunters and improve their skills with each title. It also shows in their personalities because they become more desensitized and less afraid. Post-Horror more broadly can go in any direction. Fantasy, romance - nothing's off the table. Essentially, it's horror focused on progression and development rather than fear.
