The text rewrite of Apocalypse Johto is now well and truly underway, with Part One: Silver Lining complete at 61,000 words and Part Two: Silver Tongue in progress at 33,000 words with one more beast of a chapter to go. All of Part One has been recorded by me as a six-hour-long audiobook and is available (for free of course) as a podcast on Spotify and Apple!

And this might not be the kind of thing many of you are interested in, but I have begun rewriting Apocalypse Johto as text, with the eventual goal of finishing the story and recording a free audiobook of it. Some parts of it, especially early parts, will be changed and moved around as makes the most sense to me, but the overall framework of the story will be the same, and will probably deviate less from the original as time goes on. You can follow the story HERE on the Nuzlocke forums as it continues.

Of, likely, less interest to most of you out there but a potentially good omen if nothing else, I have this year written a different story entirely to completion, and recorded an audiobook of that. It ended up sharing some DNA with Apocalypse Johto, mostly in an unintentional and very superficial sense, but if you'd like to see what it looks like when I finish something I start, it's called TH4NKS FOR PL4Y1NG and it is, of all things, a Homestuck fanfiction.

I hope y'all are well! Also, I am a girl now.

So hey, Apocalypse Johto/Battlefield Kanto will likely never be finished. I have a full synopsis of what happens in the rest of the story, and I might format that for upload and post it at some point but...in the meantime, I've been building a career in fanfiction audiobooks. You can find over 400 hours of completely free audio at http://samgabrielvo.com and I hope there's something for everyone to enjoy there! Shoutout to Rubombee, who in the last few months added navigation links in comment to the ENTIRE comic!

Okay guys so that post from almost a year ago where I said get your hopes up? Sorry. The year's been crazy. I haven't been artistically idle, just pouring my energy into something which is a bit easier to work on piecemeal. I'm sure I at least mentioned it before, but what I'm talking about is the illustrated calligraphy journal I keep for the Dungeons and Dragons game I play in. It's a project that right now a represented in the physical world by three hardback books that were blank when I got them and now are filling rapidly. I'm still figuring out in what way to put these online. I don't think I would want to use this DA account because I don't want those pages to get mingled with the pages of the comic (and I super don't want to add almost a thousand pages of nuzlocke comic to a gallery, at least not right now) but if you guys want to get updates on how all that is going--as well as any updates on when Battlefield Kanto is coming back, which it will--follow my Twitter SABERinBLUE where I post about fairly random, but hopefully soon more organized, things.

Thank you guys very much for your patience. I promise you I'll finish this story at some point.

I have been goddamn busy, guys, and what time I've had for art lately has been taken up by something that requires a lot less intense emotional focus than this comic. I plan to put it online at some point and in some form--possibly on a different DA account since I only want sequential comic pages on this one. It's a pair of handwritten books done in calligraphy (because I'm insane) as companions to the D&D game I'm in right now: my wizard's spellbook and her journal account of the campaign as well as her backstory. They've got like illustrations and stuff and are pretty cool if you're into that sort of thing, and I got the privilege of having them signed by all of Acquisitions Incorporated as well as Chris Perkins at PAX South.

Apart from that I've been DJing for 106.7 The Eagle (Waco's Classic Rock!) and ring announcing for Heart of Texas Wrestling. And still working at Starbucks because the benefits are just too good.

And I heard a song on my show that I hadn't ever heard before by a band that I wasn't even sure was a real band called The Guess Who. I had heard the name before but had thought it was people making a joke out of The Who or something. Bands have weird names. Anyway, I heard this song by them and I've listened to it about ten times today alone. It makes a good anthem for Apocalypse Johto. I might have the fever again. So get your hopes up guys, because mine are up too. Here's the song.
