Kyo Kusanagi's relationship in KOF

Saisyu Kusanagi:

They often squabbles over petty things, as seen in KOF Destiny where they are fighting over the last food until it fell into Benimaru's mouth as soon he opens the door, leading them glaring each other. However, they quickly get over it when Benimaru told them about the invitation. Saisyu wanted to enter with his son and Goro, only to have reprimanded by Shizuka, causing Kyo escaped alongside with Goro and Benimaru through the open window, much to Saisyu's anger and dismay. Kurei flipping off censored
Must be curious of his surly and unruly behaviour, Kurei often flips people off withh a middle finger showing his expression when angered or annoyed.
This one Kurei defends an offended Kei when one of the Aura Guardian (like Wakka) made a racism remarks on her. When he refuses to ride one of the Logian Technica bike, Kurei flips him off behind Wakka's back, telling Kei not to bother that jerk. Kei, though she felt grateful with his sincerity, remain unfazed.

Note: since its quite a little rude, i censored his middle finger with white paint.

Saisyu Kusanagi:
Kyo's often-absent father. Much like him, as arrogant and cocky as Kyo; like father, like son. They still keep intact through phone when Kyo tells him about the pressence of Orochi seal has been broken. Saisyu tells him in return that as long he is here, the seal will keep intact before send off to work by an angry Shizuka. In KOF 94 to 95, Saisyu was brainwashed by Rugal, forcing Kyo to defeat him. Pleased with his son's prowess, Saisyu leaves unnoticed, insinuating that he entrusts the clan's duty to Kyo. In The King of Fighters 2001, he appears before a distraught Shingo Yabuki (Kyo's student) and tutors him in the traditional methods of the Kusanagi Martial-Arts style (in KOF 2002 manhua, however, when Kyo heard of Shingo is training under Saisyu through Ralf sending him a letter, he was annoyed at this). When the tournament was announced, Saisyu informs Kyo of a new threat which will cause untold chaos. At his father request, Kyo enters the tournament once again with his old teammates.

Shizuka Kusanagi:
Kyo's mother whom he closed bond with and very respectful to her. Shizuka loved her son very much and raising him.  Has seen in a flashback of Kyo's childhood years has a younger Shizuka objecting to Saisyu's harsh training of Kyo, but Saisyu calms her down by showing her that Kyo can withstand it. In another flashback she proudly patches up a younger Kyo from injuries he received defending his school friends. In KOF Destiny, it appeared that Kyo was afraid of her when he sees her scolding his father for not being a good example of a father and always loaf around. In reality, however, she wanted her husband to let go of their son since he can take care himself. She does gently scolds her son, unlike a harsh treatment she did on Saisyu, not to uses flames in the house, much to his dismay due to Eiji was staying at his house without his consent.

Saki Kusanagi:
Kyo's unseen older sister. They did communicate through phones and they shown cared for another and he was very closed with, much to the shock of Chizuru and Iori.

Souji Kusanagi:
He is a cousin of Kyo Kusanagi and appears in The King of Fighters: Kyo. Highly respected by his cousin, Kyo calls him 'Souji-sama'. When Kyo arrived there accompanied by Shingo Yabuki and Athena Asamiya, he asked Souji about that strange picture of him. Souji then told him his secret: he said that the Kusanagi power possesses a dark side and, when Souji pushed himself to his limits to become the best Kusanagi there was, he crossed the line to that dark side and lost control of himself. So, afraid of becoming a wild beast again, he retired himself from fighting.
Telling his story to Kyo, Souji asks him to find his sister Aoi, because they have argued and she ran away from home. Kyo agrees and finds her in Osaka.  Aoi was angry because she thought Souji quited fighting because of Kyo. She was mad with Kyo and challenged him. At the end, she yelled to Souji for not telling why he quited fighting in first place. Souji San didn't want she knew he was becoming in some kind of "demon" while he was fighting more and more. So he just quit and didn't explain the truth to no one but his uncle Saisyu. It was him who took that picture. It was a reminder for Souji. Saisyu asked Kyo to deliver the envelope which contained the picture and Kyo opened it without permission. And when he asked Souji had no other choice than explaining to him what happened and why he quited fighting. Aoi was the last one in knowing. That's why he got angry at the end. Souji goes to the Kusanagi dojo where Aoi was waiting for him. After a small discussion, they reconciled and went back to Tokyo.Souji asks him to find his sister Aoi, because they have argued and she ran away from home. Kyo agrees and finds her in Osaka. Souji goes to the Kusanagi dojo where Aoi was waiting for him. After a small discussion, they reconciled and went back to Tokyo.

Aoi Kusanagi:
Kyo's younger cousin whom Kyo often had a bad blood with due to her misunderstanding, that she thought Souji quits because of Kyo. What she doesn't know until Souji tells her the truth that the reason he quits training was he was afflicted with a similar disease to Riot of the Blood for unknown reasons. With that, he chose to stop training and fighting, afraid to become something like Iori Yagami. When Kyo found her, Aoi was angry because she thought Souji quited fighting because of Kyo.
After the discussion, they reconciled. When Kyo gone missing after the KOF 97, she, like Yuki, is believed that Kyo is still alive and asked Benimaru to find him and bring him home.

Friends:-

Goro Daimon:
Kyo's family friend and paternal figure who are one of three heroes who served as the inspiration for the KOF trio: the protagonist had a "fiery" persona, his friend was "edgy and daring", and the third hero was the "down-to-earth giant". It is also a homage to a Japanese phrase of giving birth to fire (roughly translated as "lighting strikes the earth which sparks the flame"). He patiently serves as an adviser and mediator between Kyo and Benimaru. His old teammates nicknamed him "Goro-chan". Unlike with Benimaru and Saisyu, Kyo is much closer with Goro who is much like a father to him. Before the tournament, he was Olympic Judo champion until he lost against Kyo and was bumped to third place. A year later, he entered the 1994 King of Fighters tournament with Benimaru (second place) and Kyo. He eventually befriends his teammates and continues to enter with them. In 2001, Benimaru invites him to join the King of Fighters with him. Goro was reluctant to enter until he learned that Kyo came back to Japan. To relive his team's glory days and to bring more fame to Judo, he enters with his old teammates and Shingo Yabuki. In the 2003 tournament, he joined Benimaru and Shingo once more before he goes back to attend to his dojo. Due to Shingo's incapacitated state from The King of Fighters XI, Goro agrees to reunite the Japan team, worried for his teammates. He is well aware of the current events since Benimaru explained everything he missed to him. Although his teammates worry about endangering the stability of his professional career and dojo for the tournament, he assures them that he has and always will be fine. Aware of the dangers involved while facing Those from the Past, he joins the tournament to make his students proud and to stay beside his friends. In the KOF XIII tournament, he and Benimaru both watch Kyo as he fights once again with Iori to an unknown result.

Benimaru Nikaido:
Kyo's rival and best friend who are one of three heroes who served as the inspiration for the KOF trio: the protagonist had a "fiery" persona, his friend was "edgy and daring", and the third hero was the "down-to-earth giant". It is also a homage to a Japanese phrase of giving birth to fire (roughly translated as "lighting strikes the earth which sparks the flame"). Despite his experience, he lost to newcomer Kyo Kusanagi and earned second place. He and Kyo enter the 1994 KoF tournament with the third place contestant, Goro Daimon. Eventually, he befriends his teammates and joins them for the rest of the saga. Though he would never openly admit it aloud, his pride as a professional fighter was shaken when Kyo beat him before 1994 and he secretly trains for a rematch. Before KOF 94, he lost to newcomer Kyo Kusanagi and earned second place. He and Kyo enter the 1994 KoF tournament with the third place contestant, Goro Daimon. Eventually, he befriends his teammates and joins them for the rest of the saga. In KOF Destiny: Benimaru, he often chase him everywhere for a rematch, only to confronted by the Yakuza gang. Benimaru was sit on the sidelines as Kyo foughf them off, only to help him out when Kyo was distracted by the beam of light and when one of the mob trying to stab him, Benimaru defends him as the resulted of the open cut on his arms. After defeating the gang, Kyo explained that they come for him because they were following Yuki, seemingly wanted to harras her. Also, In KOF Destiny, Kyo, Benimaru and Goro left without Saisyu. When they faces the brainwashed American Sports team, Benimaru was defeated by Brian Battler. When he tried to complained, Kyo stops him and telling him it was the Orochi clan's doing. When Benimaru and Goro was under influence of Black Crystal, Kyo manage to free them when he notice the device in the airducts and destroy it. After freeing them, they went on the face Rugal and defeat him. Kyo was thankful with Benimaru but quickly dismissed it, causing Benimaru fuming at his hot-cold statements. He often serves as a comedic foil to Kyo being serious. When Kyo tells him to handling the brainwashed Ryo, he refuses because he has a score a settle with Robert who was also brainwashed. When upon meeting them, Benimaru teasingly tells Kyo that he'll gonna tell Yuki for "putting hands with the lolita girl (refer to Yuri) ", only to shut him off that Ryo and Robert was under influenced by the Black Crystal whom he thought they owe Kyo a money or the reason of their glaring at them. After the climax of The King of Fighters '97, Benimaru resumed his modeling career and went on a world tour. He returns to Japan before the 1999 tournament due to an invitation he seemingly received from Kyo's pupil, Shingo. In reality, both Shingo and him were actually set up to join the "special team" with K' and Maxima. During the tournament finals, he learns about NESTS, a syndicate that is responsible for Kyo's disappearance. After he helps Shingo escape from the crumbling base, Benimaru continues to track NESTS to try and find Kyo. Regardless of his search's results, he meets Kyo again in 2001. Looking to relive their glory days once more, he teams up with the old Japan Team and Shingo. Each member goes their separate ways after the tournament's climax. In KoF XI, him and Duo Lon are invited to Elisabeth Blanctorche's mansion. There, they discuss Ash Crimson's thievery of Chizuru's powers, the existence of Those From the Past, and their experiences during the 2003 tournament. The trio forms the Rival team and track down Ash. They find him after he steals Iori's powers. Benimaru sees Shingo and Kyo's beaten states and threatens Ash for an explanation. Before either members can interrogate him further, Ash teleports away and warns that Kyo will be next. Deciding to let Duo Lon do as he please, Benimaru returns from overseas to Japan. He first visits Chizuru to tell her about what happened in the last tournament, both aware of the dangers that come with Ash's new abilities. Excusing himself to meet with his teammates, he visits Shingo to learn the details of what caused Kyo's hospitalization. Goro arrives and they catch up during the meeting. With the current state of affairs and the invitations from "R" passed out, he and Goro decide to reunite the old team for the tournament.

Shingo Yabuki:
Kyo's long-time fan and self-proclaimed student. He is pestered by fellow high school student, Shingo Yabuki, to teach him how to create his flames. Though annoyed and flustered by his persistence, Kyo partially agrees to mentor him as a means of gaining free meals. However, Shingo doesn't know that the flame is actually an inherited gift of the Kusanagi bloodline. Kyo, wanting a gofer and taking pity on him, decided to "teach" Shingo in exchange for food. Shingo saw each of Kyo's moves once, wrote down every move, and practiced them everyday. In 1997, he participated in the tournament for the singles entry and passed. Although he excelled in his year of training, he apparently lost somewhere in the King of Fighters tournament. As a reward for his progress, Kyo gives him a pair of his gloves, and Shingo has worn them since then. In 1999, he became one of many people worried about Kyo's disappearance. Benimaru Nikaido asked Shingo to join him, K', and Maxima in that year's KOF. Their goal for this year and the next was to find Kyo's whereabouts. During the tournament finals, he learns about NESTS, a syndicate that is responsible for Kyo's disappearance. In 2000, he entered alongside Benimaru, Seth and Lin, but wasn't so lucky. In 2001, Team Japan was reunited, but they needed a fourth team member and Shingo was called. He was extremely excited to fight with on the same team as Kyo. In 2002, he spent his time training with Saisyu Kusanagi, Kyo's father. Saisyu was too touched by Shingo's courage to tell him the truth about the flame's origin. In 2003, Shingo teamed up with Benimaru and Goro Daimon. When they were eliminated, Benimaru and Daimon complimented him, but he got cocky and started yelling that he is no longer Kyo's fan, he is his rival. That's when Kyo appeared behind him and started beating him up. After Ash Crimson stole Chizuru Kagura's Yata Mirror, Shingo visits her in the hospital and promises to unite Kyo and Iori Yagami in order to investigate Ash and the weakened Orochi seal. In his team's ending, Iori suddenly enters into the Riot of the Blood. Shingo tries to stop him several times but is beaten back with each attempt. Although saved in a sense by Ash, Shingo's wounds are pretty severe as he is covered in a cast and bandages, making him unable to participate in the next KOF tournament. Even so, he cheerfully greets Benimaru when the latter returns to Japan, who gives him a "get-well-soon" present from Chizuru. While he doesn't remember much about how Ash got there to save him, Benimaru fills him on his side of the story during his visit.

Chizuru Kagura:
Kyo's family friend and Ally. He met her at the KOF 96 tournament. At the tournament's end, he vanquishes Goenitz with Iori and Chizuru's help. Though he is warned by Chizuru of his clan's destiny with Orochi, Kyo ignores her and promptly departs. However, her warnings came to be prophectically true. In KOF 97, however, where he confronts the remaining "Four Heavenly Kings" of Orochi, Yashiro Nanakase, Shermie, and Chris. The Hakkesshu also mention the plan to sacrifice Yuki in order to revive Orochi. Fueled by these turn of events, Kyo fights an emotional and heroic battle. When they are beaten, Orochi possesses Chris' body and attempts to destroy the three clans at once. As was done in the legends of their clans, the trio successfully defeat him. In a last-ditch effort, Orochi (manifested in Chris' body) causes Iori to enter the berserk Riot of the Blood state, expecting him to turn on Kyo and Chizuru. Instead, Iori snares Orochi by the neck, and Kyo obliged his rival by crippling the great demon with one last deathblow, allowing Chizuru to reseal Orochi. In KOF KYO, she serves as an ally and teacher as well and she was the one who takes Yuki all the way from Japan and ask her to lay low as a test for Kyo. Since she's friends with Kyo, she is responsible of taking Yuki back to Japan after his dissappearence.

Iori Yagami:
Kyo's mutual rival and ally. They met in KOF 95 and he was defeated by him, which spurs him in a rage and would stalked him everytime they meet with his death threats. Despite his desire of killing Kyo, his hatred was one-sided. In KOF 96, he helps Kyo and Chizuru to defeat Goenitz. Secondly, Orochi (manifested in Chris' body) causes Iori to enter the berserk Riot of the Blood state, expecting him to turn on Kyo and Chizuru. Instead, Iori snares Orochi by the neck, and Kyo obliged his rival by crippling the great demon with one last deathblow, allowing Chizuru to reseal Orochi. In KOF 2001, he teams up with Kyo, K' and Kula to defeat Igniz. Lastly, when Verse dissappeared and the fragment of Orochi is found in Hungary, Chizuru had called him there for his assistance in dealing with a revived, yet weakened Orochi, whom Iori found earlier. His rivalry with Iori is one of mutual hatred and was hardly spurred by their clans' history. When Kyo and Iori join forces, it is often begrudgingly and as a last resort solution to the conflict at hand. What he doesn't know that Iori rescues Yuki from being kidnapped by NESTS. A running gag between the two with Kyo teases him by calling him "dateless freak" due to his lone-wolf behaviour. Iori was annoyed of this but respect the fact that Kyo's relationship with Yuki was like a "swan-song".

Moe Habana:
Kyo's ally and teammates in KOF EX. She is one of the ten treasures of Japan, her treasure being the "Yatsuka Sword" (八握 剣, Yatsuka no Tsurugi ). She was a high school student in America. One day, she finds the wounded Kyo, who had just defeated Orochi, took him home,  and nurses him back to health. Worried for his safety, she decides to tag along with him in the King of Fighters tournament. She thinks of Kyo as her "big brother".

Reiji Kagami:
Kyo's ally and teammates in KOF EX. He is one of the keepers of the ten treasures, the "Hetsu Mirror" (辺津 鏡, Hetsu Kagami). Reiji shows up with a King of Fighters invitation at the home of Kyo Kusanagi, who is living in America. As a representative for Chizuru Kagura, he asks Kyo to join him as his teammate in the championship competition so that they can investigate the waves of mystery that are interfering with the "Orochi" seal.

Yuki Kushinada:
Kyo's love interest and the only one he treasures the most. Due to his close bond, it is revealed that she was the reincarnation of Kushinada Princess and his meeting with Yuki is not coincidence but destiny. Because of that, he became protective of her. What he treasuresd most she buys him an amulet, which Kyo continues to treasure when they're apart from one another. In KOF KYO game, Yuki remains as a constant but secondary character in the game and will with Kyo go on some dates. During one of these dates Yuki meets Shermie and ends scaring her a little. At some point, she is apparently kidnapped while waiting to meet up with Kyo for a date, and taken to several places outside Japan: Kyo must investigate with the help of other fighters, but it turns out it was a plan from Chizuru Kagura, who asked Yuki to lay low as a test of character for Kyo. Later, Yuki is kidnapped for real by Chris and then held hostage by Yashiro Nanakase in the middle of the tournament, reflecting the Sacred Treasures subplot and revealing her heritage as Princess Kushinada's descendant to both Kyo and to herself, much to her shock. In the epilogue, the recently-rescued Yuki tends to Kyo once he wakes up, along with Shingo Yabuki and Chizuru. Yuki is also deeply loved Kyo and genuinely shown concern of his reckless behaviour and his sudden appearance, yet faithfully waits for him. She also shown a slightly annoyance of his disinterest of studies which resulted had him as a drop-out. Unlike Kyo, Iori and Chizuru who were well-aware of their heritage, Yuki is oblivious of her heritage but she does shown a shock revelation of her being the last Kushinada Princess' reincarantion during KOF KYO. Shaken by the ordeal, she trusted Kyo to rescue her and tells him that she will wait for him, and he does. His only treasure he kept was her amulet at their last date. In KOF KYO Manga, however, Kyo initially treated her as a sister rather than a proper girlfriend and Yuki was being impatient and snarker towards him but still need to care, which means Yuki is quite a bit Tsundere tendacy.
Because of his involvement due to Iori's desire of killing Kyo even it means to harm her, Yuki was left-shaken and resented him for not telling him. After Kyo lost to Maeta, he became distance and standoffish towards her which made Yuki feels bad about breaking up with him and became worried. Saisyu seems to understand Kyo became unconfindent so he comes up a plan to make them reconciled by staging the kidnapping in diguise of a masked man, ties Yuki up the top of a lamp post and challenges Kyo. When Kyo was overwhelmed by Orochi in his frenzied state, Yuki was worried for his safety and frightened by his dark side, begging him to stop. During the fight, Kyo realizes the importance of his powers as a tool to protect his loved ones. His father, satisfied with his son's revelation, releases Yuki, and she falls into Kyo's arms and they reconciled. Athena asks Yuki and Kyo to join her and Kensou in the school festival. She agrees to play the keyboards while Athena sings and Kyo and Kensou play guitar. However the festival is crashed by Goenitz, who has just defeated and kidnapped Iori; Chizuru Kagura appears as well and tries to strike a deal. Goenitz responds via giving her and Kyo some time to get ready, but takes Yuki as a hostage as well. Yuki is upset when she witnesses Goenitz torture Iori, but ultimately both of them are rescued by Kyo. In KOF 97,She was kidnapped by Yashiro, Shermie and Chris with an intention of using her as a human sacrifice. When Kyo confronts the remaining "Four Heavenly Kings" of Orochi, Yashiro Nanakase, Shermie, and Chris, The Hakkesshu also mention the plan to sacrifice Yuki in order to revive Orochi. Exhausted, Kyo passes out. The last thing he sees is Yuki, saying that she will wait for him. As she continues her life in Japan by Chizuru during the NESTS saga, she remains unaware of NESTS involvement with Kyo or the reasons for his disappearance. She was ironically saved by Iori from being kidnapped by NESTS's minions. Kyo's teammate and friend, Benimaru often chides Kyo for his negligence in contacting Yuki, though they both understand that it was needed to protect her. After KOF 2001 upon Igniz's defeat, Kyo is greeted by his girlfriend Yuki, who is tearfully glad to see him again.
In KOF Zillion manhua, instead of a girlfriend, Yuki is called as Kyo's fianceé through clan arrangement, which is validated by their feelings of each other. Both were kidnapped by NESTS agents in hopes to unlock the secrets of Orochi, only to backfires when Jan, King's brother, who tries to help Kyo and Yuki ends up became the vessel of Orochi. He kidnaps her and send Kyo to the past, only to get a help by Athena send him into the dimension. Orochi is trying to make Yuki his bride and wanted to make a better world without humans. When Yuki refused, he was infuriating and decide to kill Kyo to make her his by sending Vice impersonating Yuki to hinders him from getting near her. But, Kyo unmasked her and defeats her. It seems he knows Yuki well; rather than seducing and happy to see him, Yuki is a worrywart and angry sometimes. A running gag of this reunion that Kyo is confuses if she's the real deal. Tired of his confusion, she angrilly strangles him, saying that she's been through being hostage and becoming a bride of Orochi and he still thinking she's not Yuki. Comfirmed thhe fact she was, Kyo tried to calm her down via getting strangled. Wnen Orochi tried to kill Yuki so that he was fully awakens, Kyo helplessly watch in horror but to his relief, Leona manage to defend her from the death blow. Unfortunately, his fight against Yashiro, Vice and Goenitz taking his toll as he got overwhelmed by Orochi. Kyo ask her to run, Yuki refuses, saying she wanted to stay with him and be there for him knowing that he can overcome his fight. Encouraged by her words and the help of Chizuru and Athena, Kyo and Iori were blessed by the power of Three Sacred Treasures, they manage to defeat Orochi and retrieve Jan. Kyo, who was looking for Yuki, saw Ash Crimson who is in attempt to kiss her and angrilly told him to stay away from Yuki, which he gleefully agree. Due to Kyo's reaction, Yuki is left shaken of this and tearfully crying in his arms, frightened. After that incident, both of them went quiet, seemingly guilty and remorseful, aware by Mai and the girls who were doing party. When she isn't with Kyo or training, she is with Kensou practicing for their band. She performs the vocals while Kensou plays the guitar. At one point, she tells Kyo and Iori to handle their aggressions in a singing contest. While both rivals agree, Iori eventually retires since he finds the competition to be stupid. Because he lost to Goenitz, he bears a grudge against him and sought out to defeat him.

In spite of his injuries, his anger and spirit from his loss drove him to invent powerful new techniques (this is the canon explanation for Kyo trading his projectile attack-based technique set for his now trademark flame-laced melee attack strings). He enters the year's tournament to prove his strength to his unknown attacker. In the tournament's finals, he meets the host of the tournament and the younger heiress of the Yata clan, Chizuru Kagura. At the tournament's end, he vanquishes Goenitz with Iori and Chizuru's help. Beside, rather than be happy to see me, she usually worried about me than seduces me."

Shermie:
Because they kidnapped Yuki as a human sacrifice, Kyo sees her as an enemy and sought out to destroy the trio. Ironically, Shermie throws a kiss on him like the rest of the boys as she finds them attractive. In KOF Kyo game, it was she who turns Aoi's flames into an Orochi flames and seems to know Yuki, frightens her.

Chris:
His dark counterpart who wields flames.Because they kidnapped Yuki as a human sacrifice, Kyo sees him as an enemy and sought out to destroy the trio.

He was made to be the ultimate Kyo Kusanagi clone, outfitted with a special suit to feed data of fighters into his body during battle. After his defeat, his superior neutralizes the Kyo clones and attempts to kill Krizalid by throwing a boulder to crush him. In the normal ending, Heidern inquires if Krizalid remembers his real name. He simply cannot remember and dies shortly after. According to the novels, his corpse was taken in by the Ikari mercenaries. Zero somehow later retrieved Krizalid's body and used the power of NESTS technology to bring him back to life. In KoF 2001, he resurfaces, revived by the Original Zero, and fights alongside him. K' faces Zero, Lin faces Ron, Maxima faces Glaugan and Krizalid faces Whip. Despite knowing the truth of his origin, he still calls Whip by her real name. Krizalid finally dies on his own merits, letting Whip's Voodoo entangle his foot and force him to lose balance, this allowed Whip to shoot him with her Desert Eagle resulting in his presumably second death. When Verse is subsequently defeated, Krizalid's soul emerges from it along with many others, and is suspected to be alive again as a result.

Kusanagi/ Kyo0:
Kyo's shadow of his heart that represents his inner wrath and vengeful side. As told by Souji, if they pushes to the limits, they will be end up like Iori. In drama CD and KOF KYO manga, it is evidence that Kyo unleashes his bluish tint flams that made his rival, Iori, startled and intimidated. As a clone though, originally created as a NESTS experiment due to a special intro he has with K9999. As Kusanagi was released, he was partnered up with Kyo-1 and Kyo-2 because of their dire situation at the time. At that time, Kusanagi developed a borderline-rivalry with the final Kyo Kusanagi clone, K9999. It is unknown if this was intentional by NESTS. Because of his rushed release, Kusanagi was not well known to the opposing force of NESTS.He enjoys fighting hand-to-hand combat pyrokinetics, especially Kyo Kusanagi, someone who he wants to destroy. He possesses all of Kyo's memories, but deems them unimportant to his life as he considers himself the dark counterpart to Kyo, and not Kyo himself. Kyo was surprised to see a copy of him, although different then the previous Kyo clones he still strongly believed he was a surviving product of NESTS and quickly tried to destroy him. Kusanagi expressed homicidal joy at Kyo's appearance, his great desire to destroy him now potentially achievable right in front of him. Through an intense battle, Kyo's team ended up winning while Kusanagi could no longer take any more beatings. Kusanagi disappeared in the shadows, never appearing since. It has been theorized Kusanagi's experiment could be the result of NESTS releasing the evil within Kyo's heart which consumes a Kyo clone entirely, resulting them in an evil state. It's also theorized they experimented with the Kusanagi blood's "dark side" which was mentioned in one of the KOF drama CD's, and they managed to succeed in creating Kusanagi, the dark side of the Kusanagi blood.

Kyo was infuriated when he found out that Kyo5 was his surviving clone and that he planned to take Yuki away, and sought him out to destroy his nefarious yet lustful impostor. Iori is also enraged when he realized that Kyo5 was his rival's clone and sought him out to defeat him with K', Nameless (Tristan) and Kula.

Clone Zero:
Because of NESTS has done to him, Kyo calls it as pay back.

However, Kyo is able to make the finishing blow and defeats Zero. Zero tells them to go to Igniz, the leader of NESTS, to end NESTS and their terror, as they leave off the crashing ship and go straight to the NESTS cartel.

A fight against 50 and one man unfolds, and while Igniz wins the first round, he loses the second after everyone is motivated by Kyo to unlock and unleash their potential, and to give everything they got to save the Earth and the people they love. Kula surprises Igniz with an attack, followed by Kyo and Iori beating Igniz senseless with no remorse, and K' finally deals the finishing blow
As Igniz calls himself a demon as he can no longer use his powers because of his damaged soon, he uses a device to plummet the NESTS cartel into Earth's waters to take everyone down with him. Everyone is saved by Ron, including Kyo Kusanagi.

Kyo Kusanagi's relationship in KOF
Due to overly stats, i had no choice to delete it so i had to focus of things in mind through Wiki, Mugen and fanmade about Kyo Kusanagi's thought about everyone around him.

Bio:
Kyo is the over-confident but well meaning protagonist of the series, more interested in enjoying life than having to partake in any particular responsibilities. He is quick to dismiss subjects that don't interest him and will often carry out his actions with a devil-may-care attitude. Despite his seemingly arrogant and rude demeanor, he treasures his friends and family, enjoying their presence and particularly doting on his girlfriend, Yuki. His extreme disinterest in studies has led to his chronic inability to graduate from high school (which has become subject to in-jokes). Although he is confident in his poetic talent, most of his poems aren't considered to be good by his listeners. Kyo takes his clan's responsibilities on a more personal level, disregarding ancient legends and predestined events as any reason for his actions. His strong sense of justice and his zeal to fight stronger opponents are what he believes to drive him to carry out his destiny. His rivalry with Iori is one of mutual hatred and was hardly spurred by their clans' history. When Kyo and Iori join forces, it is often begrudgingly and as a last resort solution to the conflict at hand.
