Damn - the Swiftwind is still a sassy ship - and an arse-kicker - excellent work here - can teach the clowns at CBS how to do trek!!!

too kind.  I miss the Berman era of trek ships.  At least you can see them, in JJverse and Discovery everything moves so quick you can't take in any detail

Yeah - they do tend to go like supercars....

How did you do the ships?! :D

I designed the ship and got someone to make a 3d model using sketchup.  Then I converted the model and used a program called electric rain swift 3d to animate it and export in vector,  Then i tweaked it in adobe flash and added the fx and background

Is Electric Rain Swift 3D free? :)

No, and the company no longer trades, which is a pain in the ass.  You can download it with a hack but I don't know where from.

That's ok, I'll try Blender. :)

You'll get a more realistic effect with blender.

I was thinking of just taking frames of untextured objects and rotoscope them in a 2D animation program. Disney used that sort of technique when making The Great Mouse Detective and Beauty and The Beast. :)

Thats extremely time consuming, they had a team of experts, I have tried that technique before.
