Dandelion

I started this picture over a week ago, but had to put it aside. Things are getting busy as I prepare to graduate, and drawing pictures isn't high on the list of priorities.

I expected this to be an easy project, since dandelions have a simple, repetivive structure to them. I was right about the fuzzy seed cluster, but wrong about the leaves and stem. Those were the hardest part, and took over half the time. Organic shapes are tricky for me, which is why I generally avoid them.

Done with vectors in Inkscape, as usual. Minor update: The fuzz is a little more detailed now.
