Black-and-white

The Black-and-white Warbler is in my opinion one of the most striking warbler species in North America. They creep along the trunks of trees like nuthatches, feeding on insects. Unusually aggressive for a warbler, they will attack other small birds that enter their territory. Many of these birds will stay and breed in Massachusetts, and the particular location where this male was singing looks good for a breeding spot.
