A cover to a Pixies tribute anthology. Scott really made this sing with his finishing inks/tighter pencils on this.

It just grabs me! Oh how i envy you artists who can draw like this ... while I am restricted to just doing technical artwork.

That project sounds super cool!

It's been fun, at least the writing and cover work. I', very disappointed in myself for the art on my story.

There are no actual lyrics in the book, right? Just stories inspired by the songs...?
ryancody's avatar
Right, no lyrics, no likenesses, just more of a vibe.

Sounds cool. I'm sure your work in it will be wicked.

Wow, that's great!

Thanks Jakob, means a lot coming from a design guy.

:) Well, it is. And if you want any design-guy specific input I'd kern (tighten the space) between the W and the A in WALLS. And there seems to be some ghost shadow from the signature in the halftones behind it. Not sure you meant to do that or not.

But like I said. It's great!!
ryancody's avatar
Yeah, the ghost signature is fixed in the final. I should probably pay more attention to things like kerning and text in general.

Oh man, great colors. You got an eye for palettes dude. Makes me jealous.
ryancody's avatar
Only on other people's work. Me coloring myself really suffers. But I love working with Scott.

He's the man no doubt. Maybe we can do something together down the road. It would be fun.

If I have time, I'd love to color something of yours. I'll put it in the back of my brain and let it percolate. Next time you have a cover or something, let me know.
Andrew-Ross-MacLean's avatar
Yeah no worries, we'll do it for real. I wouldn't want you to go unpaid for something like that.

I'll take credit for the colors, the rest is all :iconscottygod: Hopefully he posts the original b/w on his page. Thanks!
