I got tagged. My friend Bunni89 (https://www.deviantart.com/bunni89) tagged me and this seemed very interesting so I decided to go for it.
Write 10 interesting things about yourself.Tag 5 interesting people.Besides drawing and writing comics, I'm also an amateur songwriter.
I started playing the guitar on october 2012 and it's something I quite enjoy. I like it so much that I've even written a few songs (I've got 6 now, I think). They're all worship and praise songs. Well, I just write the lyrics and the basic melody but I think it counts as songwriting, right?
My friends and I had a band back in 2009 and we played our own songs.
That's right! We had a 5 piece christian roc
This sunday I came to Lima, Perú. I'll be staying here until december, so I think I won't be posting artworks, commenting or faving here on dA until then.
I'm very happy to be here. I just might write a small journal about it one of these days, if I have the time and feel like it.
Good luck to you all, and see you then :)
P.S.: I occasionally post a picture or two of some sketches I'm doing here (plus photos of my trips!) on my instagram account. Check it out!
Ten things about me:
I'd love to be Ruu Romango, the main character of my comic.I'm still learning what it means to be a christian. My favorite place to be is the historic center of my city.I learned the basics on how to play guitar in about two months on my own.
I've written five songs. My beard grows very fast. Sometimes I shave up twice a day.I'm not good at dealing with babies, but I'd love to have kids someday. When I was younger, I'd never go to parties or hang out with friends. Nowadays I hang out with my friends at least twice a week and go to parties at least once a month.I love to dance. But I'm not good at it.I prefer to walk rather
I've been working on my Boy X Sword comic project for over seven years now. Seven years! I've re-done the Boy X Sword plot at least four times, and I've also changed the comic's name. At first it was called The Ninth Card, then I changed the name to Rain of Swords - Chronicle of Ruu the Dasher, and the last one was Boy X Sword.
I started writing this comic back in 2006 when I was still in high-school, and in a way, it was a means of escape from a world that seemed like too much for me to handle. I would dream of running away and wandering endlessly across this country, and that's how I came up with the character of Ruu the dasher (who at fir
These past few days I've had to deal with something that I had almost forgotten about: depression. I've suffered from depression since I was around 12. When I was younger I had a much harder time dealing with it, and it often led me to self-destructive, suicidal thoughts. These past 5 years the fight had gotten easier, I would feel depressed less often and for shorter periods of time. Even my self-esteem was recovering and I would mostly feel very good.
Until this year came along. My first big crisis came from having my wisdom teeth removed. The pain I felt in the surgery was the most intense pain I've ever felt and it still shakes me a bit
While I was away on vacation with my family, I took some time to re-think my comic, Boy X Sword. When I started writing it, manga was my main influence and I wanted to write something like it, and there were so many things I also wanted to include, ninjas, samurais, swordsmen, slaves, victorian outfits... It was fun writing something like that! But now I'm aiming towards something more... Consistent? Coherent? I'm not sure. What I know is that the new BxS will be set in two post-colonial nations, Quito and Quil. Instead of developing a plot that deals with several subjects over a number of chapters like manga does, I'm thinking of writing sho
Yesterday I drew and inked the last page of Guerra + Santa. I'm honestly pleased with the way it came out, although I must admit, as I drew the final page I had a bit of a sad feeling. Accomplishing a goal is a bittersweet experience.
I'm thinking about the future. I know my next comic will be much better and I'm already thinking about what story I should write next. I have some stories in mind, but for now, I'm not sure which one I'll go with. I'm thinking about taking some time, sketching things out and improving my drawing skills before starting a new work. When I look at these pages I've drawn, I'm proud of my hard work, but
I'm pretty excited to say that I'm only 12 pages away from finishing Guerra + Santa! This will be the first time I write a complete comic from beginning to end, so I can't help look forward to it. I've learned many things while writing this story, and I'd like to think I've improved as well.
And now, as the end of this story comes closer, I can't help wonder, what story shall I tell after this one?
I've come to realise something: I don't work nearly as hard as I could on my stories. I mean, they're not bad, they're ok- they don't have major plot holes, they're full of emotion and thought. But the other day something got me thinking, how far
For each of the first 20 people to comment "Ruu is so cool~" on this journal, I will feature one of their characters. I'll also tell you what I like about them.
If you comment, please do the same in your journal, putting the tagger on in the first slot. The idea of this is not to get a free feature, it is to spread art around for everyone!

Por supuesto que el personaje que más me gusta es Tifa Hichigo, es súper adorable, me encanta porque es algo torpe y distraída, y el pobre Lamberto siempre sufre con sus hechizos. ¡Me encanta! :meow: ¡Lean su historia, es adorable! :)

No, I'm not going to run away to the forest or something like that. What I mean is, I just finished adding the final touches to the first chapter of Guerra ☩ Santa, entitled The City. I'm more than eager to post it online, but I won't do it for now because I'm not even halfway done with the second chapter (Peace and War), and the truth is, I want to post all three chapters at once. Don't worry, though! I'm writing this comic at an adequate pace; I hope to finish it by the end of this month (altho it's more likely that I'll finish writing it sometime around may 15th).
I've been thinking about how to get as many people as I can to read m
Two weeks ago I finished writing the first chapter of Guerra ☩ Santa and last week I wrote the first two pages of the second chapter. I feel like I'm getting more used to writing comic pages. I think I completely lost the pace after a year of not writing, but I'm quickly recovering it.
I've been developing something (a style?) that I call "honest art". Basically I'd describe it as the intention of creating based on your expressive needs, without trying to emulate another artist's style, or try to reach an academic level of perfection. It might sound like I'm justifying my laziness or my lack of drawing skills, but from my point of view
