King Arcturis and Little Pipp

After weeks of commission work I finally managed to do something for myself and give my long ago created character a proper cute art. Arcturis, I created him really long time ago and I am more than happy to share a short story with him and Pipp.




"Do you think we’ll ever be able to fly again?" whispered Pipp, as if she were afraid that her dream might not come true if she said it aloud.
Arcturis smiled warmly.
"Of course! You promised me a star from the sky, remember?"
Pipp flapped her tiny wings enthusiastically, though they were still too small to lift her even an inch off the ground.
"It’s true! And I will bring it to you!" she declared with determination, then added softly, "...when I can fly."
Arcturis chuckled.
"There’s no rush, little star. Every pair of wings finds its strength in time. Even mine had to wait."
Pipp tilted her head, a curious frown forming on her face.
"But… you never got to fly, right?"
For a moment, Arcturis was silent, his gaze drifting towards the horizon where the sun was ending its journey for the day.
"No. I was born after the magic faded. But..." — he smiled gently — "that doesn’t mean I can’t fly. In my dreams, I soar higher than the clouds."
Pipp’s eyes widened with a spark of hope. She leaned in closer, lowering her voice as though she were sharing the biggest secret.
"Maybe… when we’re able to fly again, we can go get that star. Together."
Arcturis felt something stir deep within — a feeling of hope for better days and for magic to return.
"It’s a deal," he replied softly.
Pipp yawned widely, but still clung tightly to her father’s mane.
"Just… promise you’ll wait until I’m ready to fly."
Arcturis gently slid her off his neck and into his embrace.
"I’ll wait as long as it takes," he whispered.
