Imaginism - The Future Of Art Is Here Now
In Toronto & on deviantART
No better living functioning evolving example of the new pattern in the creation, dissemination and education in the visual arts can be found than Imaginism Studios, the online brainchild of artists Bobby Chiu & Kei Acedera. Established in Toronto in 2005, the studio has specialized in pre-production character and concept design for film, TV, gaming, and publishing. As creators of some of the most wildly creative and whimsical images ever presented on deviantART, this artistic couple has built an international fan base independent of the

Art + Anatomy book RecommendationsEdit: updating this for new followers who might want to see this
15 books I recommend for anatomy, art fundamental study and art inspiration. Please note that these are simply my personal recommendations and books that's helped me a lot in the past.
I've taken photos for these books, so Here's a less image-heavy list (on tumblr)
This took so much longer than I first anticipated so I really hope people find this helpful cause, seriously, spending 3 days on this does not feel like it was worth it
edit: I'm putting the tl;dr list here first as a preview of the books I'm recommending.

The ring bearer by SusaStrawberry
The characters in J. R. R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings have been enticing readers for over 60 years.
Today fans are able to journey to the magical realm of Middle-earth through the wizardry of Peter Jackson’s revolutionary six film cinematic adventure.
Jackson ushered in the age of the modern day movie franchise by questionably sho
How to Commission an ArtistI've been commissioning artists for a little over two years now, starting with site money on GaiaOnline and moving to dA from there. One thing that's hard for me to ignore is the number of artists who are concerned about being scammed, either because they've gone through that experience before or because the stories and warnings of it happening all the time proliferate. Commissioners have their own concerns about being scammed by artists. The simple fact of the matter is that it happens.
However, I think a good portion of the problem is that many people who want to commission an artist have no experience doing so, and it's not as easy to find instructions on it as, say, how to draw anime eyes. That's why I'm making this guide.
It should be noted that while I mention commissioning through other websites now and then, this is meant as to general guide, and all of the examples are from deviantart.com. Also, this does not
Page Views - What Do They Really Mean?Page Views
Page views are a huge talk on deviantART. For many they represent who they follow, who they talk with, and even who they are willing to be friends with.
As of January 5, 2011, I removed viewing page views from my page and on others.
I replaced it with a message that said:
"Page Views - You may notice that I don't view page views. Not only was my page view count once destroyed by a bot, but I have come to realize page views should not represent the face of a deviant. Who they are as a person and an artist should.
As of January 5, 2011, I will no longer be paying attention to my own page views, and in addition I have vowed not to follow deviants based on page views, but instead based on ability and personality.
At that point I had 315,730 Page Views.
But I thought I would take this as a chance to write a little something about page views as well.
Earlier in the day, I spoke to PurpelBlur, and he told me:
"Is 100,000 views too seen? Doesn
PE: Decorating Your ProfileCommunity Week
Your profile page is the first thing people will see when they click on your name, so it's very important to leave a good impression! This article will provide some useful tips and tricks for both premium and non-premium members who want to convert their profile into their own, unique page. First off, some Do's and Don'ts of profile decoration:
Use dA's profile widgets-- there are lots of great options to chose from
Show off some art (that's what people are here for!)
Express your personality through colors, stamps, gifs, etc.
Add so many images that your profile takes forever to load
Use garish or headache-inducing colors
Make text difficult to read with dark backgrounds
While many widgets are restricted or locked for non-premium members, there are still a variety of great widgets that you can add to your profile, even without a membership.

"The one surefire way to get nothing is to not bother looking" - Joe McNally
Research carried out by Nikon has estimated that an amazing 332 million jubilee related photos will be taken on the day of the Thamas River Pageant on June 3rd. That's amazing. It even tops the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton last year. The upcoming Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth has sparked patriotism in the most unlikely places meaning that driving down a normal street turns into an epic photo opportunity with the various bunting, flags and other bits and pieces. So whether or not you're local to London and able to join in the four days of pomp and ceremony that the British are allegedly famed for - you might find that there are events and things local to you that will bring out the journalistic candid photographer that's screaming inside to get out! But in this day and age, when every second perso
Photoshop tutorial- PS basics for newbiesPhotoshop tutorials
And I decided to make more useful journals You have to wait for my next tutorial A LOT, so I decided to make short tutorials here...in journals. So in this article you'll find tutorials: How to make layers, How to change color to a layer, How to make groups/folders, How to change background color, How to rotate canvas and all basics in tool menu on the right side. In this tutorial I used my newest image Mermaid's Wisps, just to show you few things (I just had to open something )
If you wish to see images in full resolution then simply click on the images below (they are big as my screen 1920 x 1080px... OK I cropped bar below ). I used Photoshop CS6 here, so some things may be different in lower PS versions. I'll make even more tutorials
