Anthro Paw Glove Design by RussellTuller Anthro Paw Glove Design by RussellTuller

Here we have a piece of concept I came up with last week, I love creating concept art so this one was a lot of fun! The idea was to design a comfortable glove for anthros with paw pads. This example is using a canine model but I can see it working well on felines too.

I've always disliked having to either completely cover my anthro characters hands or leave them bare. Not to mention it would probably be too uncomfortable, especially from the pressure on the carpal Pads (The small pad on the wrist) unless of course, they were over sized gloves.

From a design point of view, I think this is a nice form fitting design which doesn't take away from the hand's form while still remaining functional. Which is something I strive for whenever designing a character or armor for a character.

I could see this working decently on a werewolf character too, it would fit their hands in both their forms eliminating the need to remove them during a transformation. Assuming your werewolf has hands like the ones in this study of course.

Hope you all enjoy and find this helpful in your own designs.:)

Nice concept. Those would work great for my dragon and catfolk characters.

Always impressed when artists put thought into their designs, and then further explain their thinking in the comments. Furry creatures can use the additional support from the gloves.

The hands have it!

Excellent idea! I know well from hikes that wearing gloves is important. The walking poles alone would rub the skin right off your hands (paws?) but even without a walking stick it's good to keep hands covered to hold onto branches, moving sticky brush, and the like.

I use a mechanics glove. I'm not sure exactly how to explain them, but they have spandex on the top, and leather of sorts on the palm. Gives excellent grip, and even in the hottest days they are cool. Maybe someone can find exactly where to get them. I see them every once in awile in a Walmart or sports shop.

how do they get on over the pads? Are they stretch material? I can see how the size varies in ffront of and behind the carpal pads, but on the fingertip and palm pads, it would probably bind unpleasantly while getting on - and nearly impossible to get off

Very neat! I always had the problem with gloves on my characters :'D
