I've always been fascinated with dark elves in fantasy. It's something about their alluring characteristics. The Elder Scrolls has some of my favorites, and this painting is about Vivec, one of the Tribunal who are worshipped as gods in the dark elf homeland of Morrowind. At one point, Baar Dau (a moonlet) fell from the sky, threatening to destroy Vivec City, but Vivec simply raised his hand and stopped it. He held it in place so as to remind his people to respect the Tribunal, however, his power later waned and the moonlet crashed, triggering the eruption of Red Mountain which destroyed much of Morrowind.
