I've been on DeviantArt for like three years now, going through my time to draw fanart of some Chinese children's show (SEER61, or 赛尔号) and F/GO digitally and uploading it onto this site. I've gained a bit of a following and I quite enjoyed drawing. As time passes by, I've been active less and less and drawing less and less, ultimately taking long hiatuses because I've been so distracted by this site. Even though I pop in on occasion to like, comment, and all that stuff, it sometimes drains me of motivation to do art. Now I love the artworks posted here, it's really, really great. I'm not someone who kind of blends in their personal life onto the Internet as I pretty much like my privacy here, but I really love to share what I've made. Over the past year or so, I've been trying to find ways to gain more popularity over my works, even though I made nothing new and is really bad at trying to garner those statistics, I mean that by interacting with other artists and such.
Looking at other viable social media sites to post more of my artwork, I had personal Instagram accounts multiple times, and I shot all of them including the one that I converted like five months ago. I also revived my abandoned and once-suspended Twitter account from many years ago: I also shot that. Personally, I never liked these popular sites, especially for posting artwork since there's a lot of people and plus the tiring algorithm, or maybe it's just me, I don't know. In fact, I would prefer to have a singular art social media site like DeviantArt to post all of my arts instead of multiple places since I do not like to maintain all of those accounts with separate or close audiences, I like to keep things in one place. Tumblr's not my type, I don't draw furry art so FurAffinity and Weasyl are out of the way. I think I still have Art Fight somewhere out there. I like Pixiv, but I can't really speak Japanese. Right now, I've heard and seen about a new art site called Art Rise and it looks hopeful to me, so there's a chance I'll probably migrate to there once it gets released. (There's also Art Spacious, which I am also rooting for. . .)
Now for my artworks, I've gotten back to designing things and found a new style that I like. For now, I won't be posting much on the Internet. Few of you might have probably heard that I am currently writing a story and drawing characters for my world, so I'll most likely switch from fanart to original character art because I really want to dedicate my skills to that. I've also been writing the stories, though I'm not sure sharing the literary works I've made to here or anywhere, and I've been contemplating whether to write a big novel or draw a graphic one. I haven't really shared much about it yet, but here is a singular drawing of a character (old design, I'm in the process of redesigning her) from my world: Diana Yomlilo-Tan
Over the past months, I've gained the notice of the inevitable update of Eclipse. I already knew of it like almost a year ago or something. But now since I'm really stuck in quarantine trying to find something to do, I also took notice that the update will be fully implemented in like a week or so, I don't know. To me, the new site looked quite modernistic (though they kinda took ArtStation's site layout ngl) but compared to the old layout, I like the latter. I don't have much of an opinion on Eclipse as I don't really care about it, but considering many other people might be leaving this site, DeviantArt's gonna get buried soon. I kind of miss the old site now. . . Now it's been a very, very long time since I wrote a journal, and I highly doubt most are active here anymore, considering this journal I found: The Sound Of Silence - DA Statement I think making some form of protest is a little bizarre since it'll just be forced upon, but I'll watch it happen.
I will take one long hiatus, probably permanently, never to be seen on this decaying website again. But I will still keep this account up as an Internet art archive, and I'll find somewhere to migrate. . . eventually.
Here are other places where you can track me down (with the same username, unless it's one of my clones).
Twitter: also gone
Art Fight: https://artfight.net/~Ruitherga (I like this website, so I'll keep it up along with DeviantArt as an art archive of some sort. . .)
