In the earliest drafts of the script, Kylie only cried a little, explained herself, and then the rest would just dwell on it. The hug came to a surprise even to myself when I redrafted the script following the now concrete flow of events.

Surprisingly, the hug came out much more understated than I'd expected, but I think I like it this way. It was a very sudden, very brief hug, and I think the action didn't mean so much as simply the fact it *could* happen at this point.
