Serpamia Flare Strip 190

This scene (i.e. the whole scene Kylie is explaining her past) took several rewrites, not for the content of her past (which is fixed already) but for the responses by the other characters. The characters often run off and write their own dialogue when I put the scenes to paper, but Cain in particular was in a bit of a dark and contemplative mood before Nemi broke his trance, so his response came out more raw than expected. As a result, Kylie's response - which was initially her gentle smile - changed and she showed a different kind of smile. So you can look at Cain's thoughts in that second-last panel as a half-reflection of my own thoughts too, lol. 

Anyway, end ramble. I'm glad this scene is now over, because the next scene is a whole new chunk of complicated...
