I fell in love with Msyu the moment she appears. She's like Taiga, but ruffly! I knew it would be a challenge, but I really wanted to cosplay her.
Skirt and top: The skirts are two levels of three circle skirts with horsehair/braid sewn into the hem to give the "clamp" ruffle look (so glad Msyu wears shorts...). The top is a full bodice cut down (to prevent me from flashing or the top slipping) with hand tacked down ruffles.
Stockings: The stockings are 5-toed stockings I found on eBay and airbrushed by my airbrush artist friend Han. Took 2 hours standing a cold garage. Worth every second. I tried to attached fake nails to the stocking, but haven't come up with a viable way to do this yet.
Gloves: Red gloves that I made and were airbrushed by my friend Han again with fake nails attached to the fingers. I think when I wear this again, I will just paint my hands.
Horns: Horns were a wire base, covered in paper mache, then model magic, sanded and painted. They are really light weight and fit under the wig. I'm not happy with the wig and plan on styling it better for Otakon.
Whew! I think that's it! Here's a reference of the character: Click me!
Costume made by me, except airbrushing.
