Crescentcrests are a species of nocturnal griffon named for their crescent-shaped crests and tail growths, as well as the shimmering parts of the males. The golden sheen is a major part of mating displays as males show their shine under the light of a full moon to attract their mate. They are territorial while displaying and will shoo competitors away from their stage area. This is where "sneaks" come in, mimicking females to bypass the larger males and find a mate. There are some cases where a sneak will catch the eye of a male and they become a same-sex couple.
