Happy Holidays! Merry Christmas!
I haven't been doing much digital art lately, so I haven't been as active here. I have three digital portraits I did not too long ago for practice, so maybe I'll post those here when I have time. I've been working traditionally a lot lately and have been focusing more on improving than doing super finished illustrations.
If for some reason you actually love my art and want to see what I'm up to, I'm the most active on instagram - which you can check out here: www.instagram.com/rubberduck4l…
It's just easier to post traditional art on instagram and people don't get as in a tizzy over photo quality over there so I post more without worrying. Plus it's fun, I definitely get the biggest response to my work on instagram which is nice.
I've been pretty busy with my MFA program over the past several months. I'm off right now, but I go back to school early January. I've been going to figure drawing sessions religiously, both for school and for fun, and I feel like I've been improving tremendously. I've been in a little bit of a rut for creating big digital illustrations, but I always enjoy just practicing and improving so I'm always doing that type of stuff.
I've also been practicing creative writing lately. I used to write more than I draw, but now for my profession it's the opposite. I'm trying to get back into writing for myself again, but I get very self conscious of my creative writing. I'm debating posting here the thing I'm almost done writing - I might put a censor on it just so only people with a deviantart account can see it (not because it has anything explicit in it - I'm pretty vanilla in both my art and writing as far as explicit stuff, if I'm being totally honest). But I'd love to get feed back from more than just the few friends I'm willing to show it to. Way back on my very first deviantart account, my writing was actually more popular than my art funny enough (and I was pretty young back than, my writing game has stepped up significantly).
Well my next semester shouldn't be as busy as my last one, I'm only taking one class next semester. So hopefully I'll at least get in one or two nice digital illustrations and have plenty of time for my own drawing and writing.
I hope you all have a happy holidays and are staying warmer than me!
