Well, the client really liked the bright red. On the live version (live version
), I am using white text on the red banners for now. Personally I think the white is too strong, and I have tried almost 20 different shades of gray in between white and black, and they all look even worse.
I could try de-saturating the red, as I haven't experimented with that yet, but, like I said, the client loves
red. They go crazy over red cars, so they were excited to see the red being prominent and bright in this design.
The other option would be to use images for all text on those banners, so that I could use a gradient, but I hate to do that. Right now it uses regular text, so it is really easy to edit and great for accessibility reasons.
Let me know what you think of the white used on the live site; perhaps I should just stick with that?
