'Armada-Class' Heavy Steam Railship Mk. LXVI

By RRaillery
Essentially a heavily-modified Dreadnought design, the Armada-Class boasted many Imperial improvements. Doing away with a rear turret reduced the need for a boiler the size of the Dreadnought’s. The Armada also included two compressed-air-powered lifeboats that could deploy to adjacent tracks on either side of the ‘ship and automatic rifles in mounts and sponsons due to the presence of privateers over Imperial railways. A 6-8-8-6 wheel layout gave the Armada better grip on the tracks and reduced wear and tear when firing its cannons. A signal lamp above the control cabin could be used to communicate with friendly rail vessels at night. Because track sabotage had become a more acknowledged tactic amongst privateers, the Armada-Class featured two naval anchors which could be dropped to act as an emergency braking measure. In total, the Armada is armed with three medium cannon turrets, four automatic rifles, and a quadruple-barreled anti-aircraft turret.
