If you like the character design, you might look up Queen Yaleena on DA. That is Teri Minx's OC which was inspired from this original design, with my permission. Teri Minx's version is lot more fleshed out in terms of backstory and personality. Her version might have an established history that would answer your question.
It might be missing a logic to the negative space like Elias has in his drawing. It's definitely doable, but it somehow looks a bit unfinished in this drawing with the corset being detailed and cut off at the waist. I've been a fan of yours for decades so I hope that doesn't come off as pretentious in any way.
It's always a pleasure to see your skills as an artist. You are one of the artists whose work I studied to get a better grasp on how to draw comic book figures when I was starting out.
My criticism reminds me of the feeling when I would be a bit jealous of guys like Frank Miller and John Romita, Jr. back in the day. They could use soooo much negative space and be so successful. I would be like ,"Why can't I be one of those guys who draws less and makes it work?" A popular, minimalistic style always seemed like it would make for such a comfortable life as an artist/creator.
