This is my sixth and final compound picture of my mega mini bead project of the season 1 poster. shugotheripper.deviantart.com/…

Mini beads are from
Hama www.hama.dk/welcome-to-a-color… and is about 2,5mm in diameter, half the size of a regular bead.

This final picture contains 308 squares of 56^2 beads equal 965’888 beads.

Its is 1,92 meters high and 3,01 meters wide.

The hight/wide ratio is as you can properly see very close to φ, the golden mean that is (√5+1)/2

I started the project on the 3rd of November 2012 and have finished today on the 24th of Marts 2014, meaning that it have taken me 1 and a half year to make. The mosaic constitutes a half years of full time work, but I have for natural reasons not worked full time on it. Each square takes between 1 and 4 hours to make dependent on its complexity.

In monetary terms I have spend an amount that is approximately equal to 1000 USD on materials.

However this is NOT a world record. At the time I started the project it would have been in the number of beads, but before I could finish it even that had been beat. And it was never going to be recognized anyway as Guinness measure their mosaics in absolute dimensions rather then in complexity. I have however completed this project entirely on my own.

Also note that some of the bead colours are distorted due to the scanning, the most obvious example is Pinkie's and Spitfire's hair as well as the logo, just so you know that her hair is not actually the wrong colour it only looks like that here, due to the scanning process.

UPDATE
I have taken a new photo of the mosaic with the sun in the background so you can see how it looks in naturel light.

Wow, very impressive! I'm surprised this doesn't have more comments/faves; maybe you should add more than one tag and add "hama" to the title?

By the way! Did you know this was featured on Hama's site? (That's how I discovered it!)
They typed your username wrong in the link, but I sent them an email already.

oh shit, I made a typo, it is 314cm wide not 301, well it doesn't matter now

how much points does this poster cost

I don't understand the question.
And this is not a poster, it is a bead mosaic OF a poster, try pressing the green download bottom to view it in HD and follow the link to the picture I took of the mosaic on my parents lawn.

Absolutely amazing! The dedication that went into this is insane. I didn't even realize these were mini's at first, which makes it even crazier! Hats off to you :juggle:

Thou art wrong, it didn't require much education. Its like a snowball, once it have picked up enough speed and size, its impossible to stop.
Its called a flow, the hard part is not continuing, it is starting.

I said dedication, not education lol. Such a force cannot be contained

it was a spelling mistake, look at my comment, "education" does not make sense.

Great work regardless! Any plans to do something of this scale again?

I did, but I don't know if I am physically able. Last fall I was in a terrible traffic accident, where I had to spend several months in intensive care hovering between life and death. I am still under rehabilitation training and my left arm was one that was worst hit that suffered multiple severe fractures, and I am left handed.
I have been though major one reconstruction surgery in my elbow.
So I don't know.

Oh wow that's terrible :( Glad you're alright. So sorry you had to go through that! I hope you full recovery as soon as possible!!

I was maimed, maimed is not alright. My left arm can never get back to what it was.

Wow, you put a lot of effort into this! Nice work!

Thanks, I hope to make other giant projects later, but it will be difficult unless the doctors are able to reconstruct my hand to pre-accident working condition.

You have a hand injury? God, I didn't even know!

Hope you get better! Heart

Trust me, getting run over by a speeding car and having to spend several months in intensive care gives more then a hand injury. Luckily I can't remember most of it as I was in a coma.

Wow, that doesn't sound fun.
